The following NY Daily News article kind of escapes the fact that Joey Buttafuoco squeeze Amy Fisher, the Long Island Lolita, has already done a book. But never let facts get in a way of a good story, we always say.
New York- The Long Island Lolita has gone literary.
In a just-completed self-published autobiography, Amy Fisher details her journey from a troubled childhood, to prison for shooting her lover’s wife, to a happy new life as a wife and mother.
Described as “cautionary, contrite and deeply personal,” “If I Knew Then …” is due out Sept. 21.
In an excerpt, Fisher writes, “There were so many warning signs in my past. I am hoping that by reflecting on and writing about my life, some of it very painful, I can help stop others from getting into the same kind of trouble.”
She also provides a warning to kids and parents, saying, “I did these stupid things, and I’m here to tell you, this is what you should watch out for.”
Fisher, who turns 30 in two weeks, was released from prison in 1999 after serving seven years for shooting Mary Jo Buttafuoco in the head during a confrontation outside her Massapequa, L.I., home.
Fisher was having an affair with Buttafuoco’s husband, Joey, [the notorious porn industry hanger-on] at the time.
The Buttafuocos have moved to California and are divorced.
Fisher is now married and raising her 3-year-old son, Brett, in an undisclosed Long Island community, her co-author, Robbie Woliver, said yesterday.
Fisher has worked as a columnist for the past few years at the Long Island Press, a free weekly based in Garden City where Woliver is the editor-in-chief.
