from www.news10.net – A lost cell phone lead to the arrest of a Folsom man after good Samaritans turned over evidence of child pornography.

Taylor James, 24, of Folsom was arrested for possessing images and videos of child pornography on his cell phone, which was found by two maintenance workers, said Sgt. Jason Browning.

The two workers found James’ cell phone in a Folsom parking lot. While the workers looked through the files, they found more than 40 images and videos of early teens and pre-teens performing sexual acts, Browning said.

The two handed the phone to a friend, who then turned it into police. Browning said police were able to track the phone to James.

After staking out James’ home, police interviewed him about the phone and the files on it. Browning said James admitted that the phone was his, but denied having child porn on the phone.

Police arrest James for possession of obscene matter depicting persons under 14 years of age. He is being held at Sacramento County Jail with bail set at $50,000.
