Publisher, Vice President Content Division Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
The Vice President of the Content Division will oversee production of
AVN Magazine and the AVN Awards
Responsibilities - Manage daily work flow - Meet and Exceed financial
targets for revenue and expense management. - Bottom Line Results -
Manage editorial staff for AVN - Direct and oversee content of Award
nominees for AVN Awards - Evaluate content and adapt for changing
marketplace within both magazine and our events - Develop market maps
to assist in editorial development, revenue projections and strategic
planning - Create editorial calendars, advertising supplements, and
custom publishing supplements designed to increase overall revenue -
Maintain advertiser list and work with the sales team to grow new
business using all means of communication (prospecting, emails,
written proposals, personal presentations, telephone etc) - Manage and
coordinate with editors on content ideas, suggestions, contacts.
Provide story content suggestions where appropriate - Maintain key
industry relationships and continue to maximize the value of their
advertising dollar - Provide customer service to existing customers,
new customers and prospects (via email, phone and in person visits) -
Manage sales staff, set revenue goals and measure sales performance
against goals and budgets - Manage the development, negotiation,
implementation, tracking, reporting and optimization of all media buys
- Work with Marketing to grow circulation through industry events,
targeted marketing efforts, list acquisition, etc.
Qualifications - Exceptional new business development - Ability to
adjust to market trends and project growth - Strong relationship
building - Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication
skills - Ability to effectively manage a team of diverse individuals
with varying strengths - B2B Media experience a plus - 5-7 years
experience in publishing
