An interview with Steve Drake appeared earlier today on adultfyi.com. We also talked to Drake back when Leave It To Cleavage was being shot, and we asked Drake about a passage in Christy Canyon’s back in which she states that Drake has green eyes. Drake may have the color of artic blue wolfs’ eyes, but Drake certainly doesn’t have green ones. And we also talked about some other shit.
Gene: You’re down here for the day from Big Bear. Now you’re basically working for DVSX.
Drake: I do six movies a year for them. I do a series called Travel Sluts. We go all around the world looking for beautiful women to do nasty sex. Right now I’m working for Big Top. I also shoot for them. I’m doing camera for them but I also do a line for them as well. I do my editing so I have complete control over what I do and this is the way I’ve wanted it- my own camera, my own editing.
Gene: A very versatile guy.
Drake: I had to. It’s the normal evolution of a male performer over the years.
Gene: How often are you over in Europe?
Drake: We just got back from Prague and the Czech Republic. We plan on about six trips a year in various place- Brazil, England, Germany, the Czech Republic; we’re thinking about possibly Cape Town, South Africa.
Gene: That’s really opened up from what I hear.
Drake: They have a weak economy and they’ve got beautiful women. That translates into good for porno people. A few years ago I moved out of the L.A. area and bought a house in Big Bear. Now I just travel when I work. My life is as good as I could ever hope it to be.
Gene: Coincidentally I had read this little anecdote in Christy Canyon’s book and she’s describing her first threeway ever and you were one of the guys and Billy Dee was the other guy. It was a movie called Doctor’s Desire. She seemed to have a pretty good recollection about it. Do you remember it?
Drake: The first ones they tend to because it’s such an impact on them, initially. Then they start to get blurry after about the 50th movie. But I’ve always liked Christy when she was working. She was one of my favorite girls to work with. I remember it pretty vividly too. I remember playing tennis with Billy before the scene on the set. I haven’t talked to Christy or seen her for at least five years.
Gene: The punch line of the story was that she went out on a date with Max Baer Jr. for sushi after which they went back to his place. She thought he was going to have sex with her. Instead what he wanted to do was masturbate and ask about your cock.

Drake: It’s a clean place. It’s totally different from L.A., and that’s what I was looking for. Actually even when I was in L.A. I was living at the beach so I was kind of detached from it.
