from www.nydailynews.com - Gruesome new details of the castration murder of a Portuguese journalist were divulged yesterday, including the revelation that he had shoe prints on his face.

Carlos Castro was choked and stomped and had his head slammed into a TV monitor before his testicles were cut off with a corkscrew, according to court papers.

The blow-by-blow was outlined as male model Renato Seabra was arraigned on a single murder count for the brutality in a Times Square hotel.

Seabra, 21, appeared in pale blue pajamas via video hook up from Bellevue Hospital, where he's been since his arrest for the Jan. 7 slaying.

He faces up to 25 years to life if convicted of killing Castro, 65.

"It's a very serious and violent crime," Assistant District Attorney Maxine Rosenthal told a judge, who granted her requests to hold Seabra without bail.

A criminal complaint says that Seabra, who is also Portuguese and traveled to New York with the victim, confessed to the crime.

He told cops he placed his victim in a choke hold, stabbed Castro "with a corkscrew," stomped on his face, and cut off his testicles.

"Shoe impressions" were left on Castro's face, according to the document.

Police sources said Seabra claims he attacked Castro's genitals as a way to cure the older man of his homosexuality.

Police believe the two men had dated for several months, even though Seabra's family insisted the hunk is straight.
