CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -The mother of Robert Robinson – the clerk found shot to death at an adult book store out on I-37 last June – claims the company he worked for is responsible for his murder, and is taking Adult Video to court.
Back on June 12th, 26-year-old Robert Robinson was found shot to death at the Adult Video on I-37 and Southern Minerals Road. His body was found by a woman who was working the morning shift. Since that murder, nine months ago, police are still looking for the killer.
Now, Robinson’s mother, Illa Stovall, has filed a lawsuit against Adult Video and its owner, Larry Goodin. The lawsuit alleges that Goodin permitted the store to be unsafe for employees and negligently or willfully failed to provide a reasonably safe workplace.
It states that there were no security cameras, no security guards, and no security system in place. It also states that Robinson was not warned the business where he worked at was an “unsafe” place to work, and that the owner did not correct the unsafe work conditions at Adult Video.
Adult Video responded and denied the accusations.
It could be up to a year before the trial starts and is likely go before a jury. It is also not known how much money the suit is asking for. Stovall’s attorney told KRIS 6 News he was not aware of the amount.
