MIAMI – NASCAR has filed a lawsuit against an individual and three companies involved with a pornographic video called “Racetrack Girls Go Nutz” for trademark and service mark infringement.

The video, originally titled “Daytona Racetrack Girls Go Nutz,” has been sold on the Internet for months. The website shows bare-chested women purportedly at race events.

NASCAR filed the suit Monday after learning that Daystrike Marketing Inc. was distributing flyers and advertisement for the video with NASCAR logos.

The flyers also were soliciting investors for Consolidated Sports Media Group Inc., based in Addison, Texas, which is involved in financing the video.

“Obviously, we don’t want to be associated with that kind of video,” NASCAR spokesman Ramsey Poston said. “We have an obligation to protect NASCAR’s trademark and good name.”

NASCAR is suing Daystrike Marketing, Consolidated Media Group Inc., John Eckerd (the co-founder of CSMGI) and NI4NI Productions.

Eckerd also is involved with the financial backing of a documentary called either “Dixie 500” or “Jasper 500,” which claims races are unsafe for minorities and women.

Eckerd could not be reached for comment.

A film crew for “Racetrack Girls Go Nutz” was kicked off Homestead-Miami Speedway property two years ago for failing to obtain authorization to film.
