From www.bizjournals.com- New Frontier Media Inc., producer and distributor of adult pay-per-view programming, Thursday reported a profit of $1.19 million, or 6 cents a share, in its most recent fiscal quarter, down from $1.89 million, or 8 cents a share, in the same quarter a year ago.
Boulder-based New Frontier Media (NASDAQ: NOOF) reported results for the three months ended March 31, which it regards as its fourth quarter, and for the fiscal year ended March 31.
The company posted revenue of $13.6 million for the latest quarter, up from $12.6 million in the year-ago quarter.
It said the quarterly revenue figure includes $900,000 from the settlement of a customer balance from a prior period.
New Frontier cited operating expenses for the quarter of $6.95 million, versus $6.14 million in the same quarter of 2008.
For the fiscal year, New Frontier posted a net loss of $5.19 million, versus a profit of $8.66 million in the previous fiscal year.
Full-year revenue, it said, was $52.7 million, down from $55.9 million in fiscal 2008. Operating expenses for the year were $38.6 million, up from $25.1 million in fiscal 2008.
“We continue to remain focused on strengthening our business and distinguishing ourselves from the competition in this market,” CEO Michael Weiner said in a statement.
