Honolulu- It's a case of Hawaii Five-O-Noooooooooo!

Honolulu police last week slapped the cuffs on a vacationing NYPD cop after he allegedly offered to pay a woman for sex he thought was a street hooker, but who turned out to be an undercover officer, The Post has learned.

Officer Michael Gee, 41, was busted last Thursday night on a heavily trafficked avenue in the famed Waikiki section, according to authorities in the Hawaiian city.

He "was one of several males arrested in a reverse sting operation . . . where a police officer poses as a prostitute," said Honolulu Police spokeswoman Michelle Yu.

Gee joined the NYPD in 1998. He had only recently arrived on the island of Oahu for vacation, according to a New York police source.

Gee, who posted $500 bail shortly after being arrested on a charge of street solicitation of prostitution, is due to appear in the city's First District court on March 16.

The NYPD public-information unit did not release news of Gee's arrest when asked about it on both Friday and Saturday.

Two days later, NYPD spokesman Walter Burnes confirmed the arrest.

He said Gee - who is assigned to the Queens transit division - was suspended without pay last Friday.

Burnes declined further comment, saying "the case involving Police Officer Michael Gee is an ongoing investigation by the NYPD."
