Scott Turner writes: Dear Gene, The workforce here in America has an organization that is supposed to protect them from unnecessary health risks. They are known as OSHA, and I personally know of one company that was fined for failing to have back-up beeping devices on their trucks, and another who was fined for failing to protect its sex workers from HIV.

Yes, I'm talking about T.T. Boy in the last instance.

My point is, OSHA has absolutely failed in any efforts to protect sex workers AT ALL. How can I say this? Easy... Where is the testing for Herpes? Genital Warts? Hepatitis A, B, or C? And also the myriad of skin contact diseases such as Tinea Versicolor?

Though somehow I escaped receiving any of those diseases, I liken the reason to be the same as a factory worker who doesn't wear safety goggles yet never gets hit in the eye by flying debris-- I got lucky.

But what about those who didn't 'get lucky'? It seems to me that adult industry talent is treated like a red-headed stepchild by the one organization that is supposed to 'protect' them (OSHA).

So I think it's time that someone fined (sued?) OSHA for short-changing a perfectly legal profession and ignoring the actors and actresses who perform in the adult film industry.

Is that such a crazy thought? I don't think so.
