from www.bleedingcool.com – There Will Be Blood and Little Miss Sunshine‘s Paul Dano appears in a new short film released on line as a promo. It’s kind of a sketch about a book club with jokes about porn cliches, but it’s also a trailer for a novel called Flatscreen. Just don’t expect to learn anything much about the book.

Dano stars with Stoya, a performer in pornographic films who, at least as far as Wikipedia can tell me, doesn’t have another name. The other supporting cast are even more mysterious, particularly Sara Cicilian and Paul Rome, neither of which I could really find out much about. You’ll also get to see Adam Wilson, the author.

There was a second narrative running in my head, all the way through. It was a mystery, revolving around just how Dano might have ended playing himself in this very odd little project.

Dano will be on the other side of the novel, so to speak, in Valerie Dayton and Jonathan Faris’ He Loves Me, playing a writer who finds one of his characters, living and breathing in real life. That should be with us some time later this year.
