INDIANAPOLIS -- A pornography actor was sentenced Friday to 30 years in prison for shipping more than 50 pounds of methamphetamine from Las Vegas, Nev., to Indianapolis.
Jes A. Criste, 60, of Las Vegas, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and conspiracy to launder drug proceeds.
Authorities said Criste, who has acted in and produced pornographic movies made in Nevada and California, sent methamphetamine to Indianapolis from January 2001 to June 2003.
The drugs were sent to Gerald Toon, of Indianapolis, who was sentenced in September to 14 years in prison for his role in the meth shipping, said the office of the U.S. attorney for the southern district of Indiana.
Authorities learned that Criste made deposits that totaled more than $123,510 in money that came from Toon and others in exchange for methamphetamine, the attorney's office said

U.S. District Judge John D. Tinder sentenced Jes A. Criste, 60, on drug and money laundering charges.
The money laundering stemmed from eight checks stolen from Indianapolis Public Schools that were found in Cristie's corporate account for his pornography business.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Barry D. Glickman said the checks came from Gerald Toon, the boyfriend of an IPS bookkeeper who later admitted stealing checks totaling $22,000 and giving some to Toon.
Glickman said Toon used the checks to pay Criste for shipments of methamphetamine.
Between 2001 and June 2003, Criste shipped more than 50 pounds of methamphetamine, at $9,000 a pound, to Toon. Some shipments went to his house. Other packages were sent to commercial mailboxes and other locations.
Criste sometimes would include pornographic videotapes or CDs along with the drug shipments, Glickman said.
Toon was sentenced last month to 14 years in prison for his role in the conspiracy.
Criste was arrested Oct. 27, 2003, in Las Vegas and later transferred to Indianapolis for prosecution.
