TITUSVILLE, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) – Janet Hughes plead guilty on two counts of unlawful sexual battery with a minor charges in front of a Titusville courtroom Tuesday morning.

Hughes now faces one to six years in prison, followed by 10 years of probation with ankle monitoring. She was released on her own recognizance after her plea.

Hughes taught at Jackson Middle School and become involved in a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student. Titusville Police said they found Hughes and the student in a van in a church parking lot in April 2008.

A judge will determine her sentencing on July 9 at 8:30 a.m.
