Troy, Michigan- A bench warrant was issued today for the woman allegedly paid $150 for sex by the husband of U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich., after she was a no-show for a court hearing.

Alycia Martin, 19, of Westland, was scheduled to appear before 52-4 District Judge William Bolle for a pretrial hearing on misdemeanor prostitution charges.

After she didn't show, Robert Davisson, the assistant city attorney for Troy, requested the bench warrant. Martin was supposed to hire her own attorney; there was no attorney there for her.

Martin allegedly was paid by Tom Athans, a 46-year-old radio talk-show executive, for sex in a Troy hotel room in February.

Police conducting a prostitution sting at the hotel stopped Athans as he left. He admitted that he paid Martin for sex.

Athans was not charged with soliciting prostitution because he agreed to testify against Martin.

Athans' attorney, Todd Flood, was at the hearing this morning but declined comment.
