MO Mowlam performed with a porn star last night – in a bizarre TV duet.

In a bandanna and hippy-style top, the former Minister for Northern Ireland joined Ron Jeremy in a rendition of the Sonny and Cher classic, I Got You Babe.

She shared the mic with Ron – who has appeared in a record 1,600 blue movies – at the end of Frank Skinner’s ITV chat show.

The odd couple were joined by Skinner and fellow guest, actress Brenda Blethyn. As they finished Ron shouted, “We sucked!”

Mo quipped back, “I don’t know about you – but I don’t.”

Earlier she had been discussing weighty issues such international terrorism and opposition to the war on Iraq. She admitted she is still a “political animal” – and revealed she is hoping to host her own TV chat show after filming a pilot for Channel 5.

But it was Mo’s karaoke-style finish that provided the real shock of the night.

One onlooker said, “It was weird seeing such a strange mix of people on stage – and their singing was dreadful.

“But they showed a great sense of humor and the audience loved it.”
