Sex Offenders Can Run Strip Clubs, Video Stores

As of this week, sex offenders can now apply for licenses to run strip clubs and adult video stores in Lubbock County, Texas.

Lubbock County Commissioners had to amend the county’s sexually oriented business regulations based on a recent supreme court ruling.

This spring, Lubbock County’s rule was to not allow sexual offenders to apply for licenses at all. Now, an applicant with a misdemeanor conviction must wait two years after the conviction to apply and those with felony convictions must wait five years.
