Minneapolis- The Minneapolis Convention Center will showcase a new exhibit in two weeks, but it will not be about home remodeling or this year's new cars.
A Canadian firm is bringing a sex show to Minnesota, the first in the state. The show will feature the latest in sex toys, porn movies and porn actors and actresses. It is being promoted with a glitzy advertising campaign, which includes several provocative billboards.
The International Sex and So Much More Show started a $250,000 advertising campaign in an attempt to attract 40,000 Minnesotans to the Convention Center. The company is bringing the show to Minneapolis because it wants to bring Minnesotans out of their sexual shells.
Showcase Productions, the firm producing the show, says that Minnesota is an untapped market because it is not as sexually open as markets like Las Vegas. "What we are doing is bringing it that much more into the public eye," says spokesperson Kari Calder. "And we think it's time."
The show is open to attendees 19 and older.
