Porn Valley- Shane is interviewed in Carly Milne's book Naked Ambition: Women Who Are Changing Pornography. Shane talks about how she met Seymore Butts. At the time, she was working as a dancer and doing nude modeling. Her first time in front of a camera, however, was for Ed Powers.

"By the time the day was over I was sitting on a couch between him and Jamie Gillis while they masturbated, which I'd never seen a man do before," she relates. "When they came I just about hit the roof. It scared the crap out of me- I thought it was probably the grossest thing I'd ever seen."

Accordin to Shane, when she met Seymore, he never told her what he did for a living.

"He wasn't honest with me about what he was doing until the day he was actually shooting at his house, where I also lived. At that point he had no choice but to break it to me." Having never been around the porn industrym Shane says she didn't know what to say to people or have any idea of how to act.

Seymore casually told her that he was shooting a porn movie at the house and running out to get some videotape. While he was gone, Toy showed up, unaware of the fact that she was going to do a scene with TT Boy.

"I was shocked that people would show up to work and not know who they were screwing," Shane comments. She then watched and observed - like the proverbial fly on the wall- TT Boy and Toy working together. At this stage of the game, Shane states that she had no intention of making porn a career. However, she began doing scenes for Seymore and people were curious who she was.

"It just kind of snowballed from there."

"It was great for awhile then everything started getting really ugly," she continues. "Seymore had a different job when I first met him. He was only doing porn part time when we first got together. So as the relationship progressed he quit that job and got into porn full force, and this industry is not the easiest to survive in. He had both business and family issues going on, and he just started getting meaner, and meaner, and meaner. We didn't have a joint bank account. He didn't pay me for any of the work that I did. I kept waiting for the good guy to come back, but it became apparent that it just wasn't going to happen that way. I moved out and he freaked out, but only because of the work issues between us. I was the cash cow. He asked me if I would sign a contract and continue to work for him, and like an idiot I said yes."

But before signing, Shane says she took a vacation for a couple of weeks to allow her head to clear. When she got back she told Butts she wasn't going to work with him.

"He lost it," Shane says. Asked what she thought she'd do, Shane told him maybe do her own line which she called Shane's World. According to Shane, Seymore laughed in her face.

"When I went looking for distribution everyone was really nice to me because they knew what an ass Seymore was and how he had nearly destroyed me."
