We have requirements that people who want to leave porn must meet. This way it teaches them right away about commitment and effort. My heart is to see porn stars rise up to be Champions in life, living a successful life of purpose, integrity and Christian values. We have to teach them HOW to do that.
When I went through recovery from porn, I was taught how to live a new life. I didn’t know how to do anything, whether it was laundry, cooking, or even how to communicate well with others. I walked in a powerful church as a very sick person and walked out a totally transformed woman of God, because I was taught HOW to live a successful life in Christ. Counseling and mentorship are some of the things we can offer people who want help from the Esther Fund.
I helped Craig through my personal experience to understand what it is porn stars who want to leave the industry really need. They need a solid structure which within they can learn how to be “normal”.
They also need our physical support. When I left the industry I was always tempted to go back due to lack of money. I even called old “clients” when I got desperate. Yes many porn stars have “clients” and do prostitute themselves. I would have never done that if someone had reached out to me and offered me financial help and a solid plan to recover. Luckily, God stepped in and helped me, but my recovery took 8 years and I strongly believe it doesn’t have to take that long if we offer the porn stars solid help.
When we help the porn stars, we are helping Christ. As we do for them, so we do for our Lord and Savior. Please consider giving to the Esther Fund. There are several people right now waiting to receive help from the Esther Fund, so please consider giving financially or even in other areas such as help with legal issues, property, fundraising ideas to help Esther Fund or whatever the Lord shows you to give. The Lord will bless you above all you could ask or think for being selfless givers. Let’s help the porn stars rebuild their lives together. With God, all things are possible.
