Skye Blue Dating High Ranking LAPD

Porn Valley- Skye Blue, owner of Platinum Blue Productions was on KSEX’s The Young & The Curious Show Friday, hosted by Jason Sechrest. Sechrest, www.jasoncurious.com recalled that the last time he had Blue on his show he made her cry. Plus the fact that Blue doesn’t do promotional appearances, Sechrest wondered why she chose to come on the show now.

“I have a new company,” said Blue. “I normally don’t do interviews- I’m not out for accolades or any shit like that. I’ve been there, done it. I live in a tiny little canyon tucked away in the hills. And I prefer not to have contact with people when I’m not working.”

Besides, said Blue, she hadn’t seen Sechrest in a long time and a lot of stuff was going on at the time with mutual transitions.

“A lot of people I was associated with at the time, different things just started happening business-wise,” Blue continued. “Of course you start traveling different roads and you lose a little touch. I thought I needed to reach out.” Sechrest asked Blue if she still considered herself a lesbian.

“I don’t know what I consider myself,” Blue answered. Asked if she’s had sex with a guy recently, Blue said she’s in a relationship with a woman for almost a year. So it seems like the question was answered. Blue said it was someone not associated with the business.

“It’s an LAPD officer,” Blue revealed. “I can’t kiss and tell but she’s not a beat patrol car cop. She’s a serious cop.” On a further note Blue, who’s been in the business about 15 years said she’s pretty much done everything that she’d want to do sexually. And things she’s not wanted to do, sexually, she’s done. For her the current relationship is normal and vanilla.

“It’s so nice to come home and not have someone go, ‘Let’s swing off the chandelier!’ Blue said she did have one crazy relationship in her life but no names were being mentioned.

“It was just weird- Twilight Zone,” said Blue. “I don’t know if it was ever hot because there weren’t too many sober moments.” Blue said she’s been clean and sober and in the program for 18 or 19 years.

“You know that television commercial where they show the mountains and the lake and the dock?” asked Blue. “And the girl is standing on the dock and there’s someone drowning in the water? And the person is standing on the dock and they turn and walk away.” Blue said every time she sees that commercial she knows she’s been through the exact thing.

“I kept my mouth shut – then when I did open my mouth – that was when I was barred and banned from the clan.” Blue wasn’t going to name and names but Sechrest said he’d mention it in passing later in the show. Sechrest said he’d run it in his blind item segment:

“Who are we talking about that Skye Blue has dated who became an absolute mess?” said Sechrest

That all being said, whatever was being said, Sechrest indicated that what he liked about Blue, was the fact that she’s an actual human being and doesn’t play up the objectification of the business. Blue said Annabelle Chong was someone like that who rode the concept of playing a whore to the limit.

“I remember one show in ’93 she did for John T. Bone,” Blue said. “We were signing at the Zane Entertainment booth when Zane Entertainment did good things. She took a black sharpie and up and down her thighs and her legs -she had this short skirt- she wrote ‘slut,’ and ‘whore,’ and had like arrows pointing to herself. And she was just walking around: I’m a slut and I’m a whore and I have it written on my body. And I thought, man, what is up with that chick?”

Blue said behavior like Chong’s give those, who need the opportunity, one to condemn the business.

Co-host Sam Phillips thought it might also be a means of playing a role and giving the fans something they would come to expect from a porn chick. Blue agreed with that assessment and did that herself, she said.

“There is a Skye Blue and there’s a Laurie- that’s my real name,” said Blue. “You have to front for the fans. The fans like it. They’re entertained by it. That’s what they want to see. But when you actually have that personally more into your person-ality, that can be a problem. Some people when they get into the business- be it male or female- there’s no age barrier for the ego, let me tell ya. They have a problem differentiating. There is a time and a place for that character they created to be present. Turn that fucker off every once in awhile and be the real deal.”

Sechrest made a similar point about Liza Minnelli changing persona once Cabaret came out to where she became the character from that movie. In another stretch at relevance, Sechrest thought that Skye Blue would love the music of Tori Amos. For herself, Blue said she loves country bumpkin music.

“She [Amps] does with a piano what rock stars do with a guitar,” Sechrest said. “She uses it as a phallic symbol. She humps the piano bench when she plays. She totally fucks the piano. It’s awesome.”

Talking about Platinum Blue Productions, Blue brought along a clip of Dark Desires.

“They’re kind of vignettes- kind of kinky, kind of dark, mixing a little of erotic/fetishy foreplay with sex,” she said. Blue said there’s more foreplay in the movie than your average pizza man movie.

“It’s erotic- us girls like a little more foreplay, so I shoot porn as a woman kind of would see it, still knowing that I’m selling it predominantly to men.”

Blue mentioned that, in the past, she was an executive producer for Playgirl television and helped launch the channel. Blue said there was a story that appeared in the NY Times about a year and a half ago in which Toni English aka Kelly Holland was interviewed. Blue said she was in Paris at the time and got a call on her birthday that Holland was taking over her job.

“She tried to take over the motherfucking company,” said Blue. “There are so many rumors floating around and without incriminating the people who I do like at Playgirl TV, I can’t totally go there. But on my birthday I got a call from Playboy. We were shooting 12 days a month. I was executive producer. I was spearheading West Coast Productions. Actually Kelly worked for me. I guess it’s hard when someone who’s the teacher to the student- when the student graduates- the teacher has a hard time dealing with that. I think that’s what was going on.”

Commenting a bit further about the phone call, Blue said she actually got it from a P.A. telling Blue her dates for shooting in August were cancelled but Kelly Holland’s were still going on.

“I said, really?” Blue then called one of the programmers who filled her in.

“It was a huge fiasco when I got home,” said Blue. “When I got home shit hit the fan. I was no longer shooting for Playgirl Television. Your best friend can take your guy, you’ll get over it. Your best friend can crash your car, you’ll get over it. Your best friend can pet sit your animal, it can die while they’re pet-sitting it, you’ll get over it. If it’s your best friend you would get over it. If your best friend takes your money, your livelihood from you, that you can’t get over. When they tarnish your name, when they call you an amateur, when they say you don’t know what the fuck you’re doing blah-de-blah-blah, that you can never get over.”

Sechrest asked Blue if she became so ambitious at Platinum Blue because of what happened at Playgirl.

“That was the fuel,” Blue said. “However there was a moment when I considered completely leaving the business because I was so damaged and injured. It injured my heart to a point where it will never be healed. And I’ve never said that to anyone except to a couple of friends. It broke my heart-someone who took me to the hospital when my grandmother had a heart attack. She was with me on Christmas holiday, met my family, had dinner with my family. It just broke my heart. My friend. You can get over someone who you’re fucking or someone that you’ve been in a relationship or even someone you’re in love- you can get over with that and move on. You cannot get over someone who was your confidante, your best friend and your soulmate in the sense of non-sexual- it was the total sisterhood. I felt like I was a witch being burned on the cross in Boston.”

Sechrest told Blue that’s why she’d like Tori Amos so much.

“One of her most famous singles is Cornflake Girl,” Sechrest pointed out. “It’s about the betrayal of women-on women and how for centuries, ladies have been pitting against each other secretly in the ladies’ room- and how completely there is this other side of women and women’s friendships with other women where they betray each other and how sad she is that her girls keep betraying her everywhere she turns.”

As a result, Blue said she want into reclusion for nearly a year and almost quit the business.

“That’s when a lot of people didn’t hear from me for a very long time.”
