Porn Valley- Summer Haze, www.summerhaze.com was on the Sports Swami show today, and Swami, in the mood for omelettes, egged on Haze about Green Lantern, Autumn Rayne and the HIV crisis. Haze's comments about the HIV situation are particularly worth noting.
Haze, at the time of the interview's taping was in Rhode Island at the Cadillac Lounge. "Doing my hardcore shows and packing 'em in," she laughed. Dropping the Green Lantern's name at every available opportunity, Swami was curious what Haze's shows consist of.
"Green Lantern's a big ass," said Haze well aware of Lantern's critical postings on the Internet relative to Haze's appearances at clubs. Haze said there's a lot of audience participation going on in her shows and that she's won a lot of awards for her shows.
"It's not like anything everybody's ever seen," she said. According to her, Haze has her own glass toy company and uses a lot of them on stage. "They're pretty neat. When people come they have a pretty good time." For her line, Haze decided to create things of her own invention. "I decided to create some of the unique things I'd like to see that I thought were different. Everybody went nuts because no one made stuff like that."
Swami noted that Haze was also a former pro wrestler. Haze explained that she had an ex-fiance who was interested in wrestling and that she wanted to wrestle with him.
"I did some valet-stuff and pursued what I wanted to do," she said. "They were interested." Haze described how she had gone through flaming tables. "That was all cool and dandy but I wasn't making enough money to have that as a career."
Haze then decided to make some movies and went to Europe. "I went overseas six months at a time," she notes. "I became very popular- I figured that was my way in."
Asked if she ever gave thoughts to hitting someone with a steel chair, Haze said she did hit someone with one once. "People get their heads split open. It definitely isn't fake. Anyone who says wrestling's fake is a crock of crap. You definitely have to learn to fall without hurting yourself. I went to the hospital many times with people who have had stitches."
Swami was curious if she'd like to do the same with Autumn Rayne. Haze said there's a lot of things she'd like to do to Rayne that don't involve steel chairs. "I think I'd like to run her over a few times but I don't think that'll make any difference with what she looks like." Even Swami said that was cold and a mean, cheap-shot.
Quoting something from adultfyi, Haze said Rayne's making claim to taking the East Coast show by storm. "I hate to disillusion her," aid Haze. "But it's going to be Summer Haze and Flexx appearing at the Ritz. We're doing a big headliner lingerie auction for PAW." It was Haze's impression that she'll be raining on Rayne's parade.
Swami wondered how the feud began and Haze quickly noted that Rayne had never been her friend.
"She showed at the East Coast Video show," said Haze. "It was the first time I had ever seen her- with her fried out bleached blond hair and crooked teeth and teeth missing. The whole deal. She ended up with one of my friends of a long time- Brandon Steele- she proceeded to have a sexual encounter with him on videotape to get her name out there. Ever since then, she's thinking that she's high and mighty, that she's done the greatest stuff in the world. She shot with a couple of crap companies here and there. She has shot with Mike South. I love Mike South every now and then. He says something screwed up every once in awhile. I think when he drinks a lot he doesn't quite notice what he's looking at."
Haze referenced the problem that she had with Delta Airlines.
"It was taken care of. They were pretty rude to us on an airplane that we were flying on." Haze said Rayne wrote a big story that she should stop whining and crying and bitching about every little thing that happens to Haze, in some cases, due to her being a porn performer. Haze said if Rayne flies as much as she says she does, "Then she would know that when you go through security they look through everything that you take on a plane," she said.
"Obviously they know what I do for a living because they see it all in my suitcases when I travel. They want to know why I won't sign things for them and give them things. It doesn't have anything to do with who I am. It could be anybody. It could be Jenna Jameson, Jennifer Steele. Anybody. They're goin to say the same thing to whoever's flying, that they're looking through their suitcases to see boxcovers and movies and posters."
According to Haze, Rayne is posting on every subject under the sun. "Something that's going on, she knows. It's her best friend. She's crying and whining about somebody screwing her over for a video that she didn't get paid for. If every girl got up on the board and cried about every video company that they've been screwed over by- and I had a nickel- I'd be freakin' rich."
Haze says Rayne needs to back off. "They're not interested in the thirty-something year old that sends pictures where she looks like she's 25. If you're not going to send out the pictures of what you really look like, then don't bother."
In her own defense, Haze is saying she's a nice person. "I am. I'm down to earth." Haze said had Rayne been that way from the beginning and not worried about competing, "There's no competition anyway- but things might have been different. But she feels the need to put her two cents into everything that happens to everybody." Noting that she's met a number of girls in the business who are ordial, particularly Jennifer Steele, Haze said she can't figure out Rayne. "That's why I don't understand somebody who comes along that is a has-been comes into the industry and starts shooting off her mouth about how great she is and starts putting down everybody else. She doesn't even know what she's talking about." Haze said Rayne's claim to fame is being the fist porn girl- "if she wants to call herself that"- that ever went to the Bunny Ranch.
"I'm sorry. I have a lot of friends who do work at the Moonlite Bunny Ranch but I wouldn't want to be telling everybody that. That to me doesn't constitute as being something all that great." Swami asked Haze if he had any other comments to make about Rayne, for instance, if she has a stinky rear end. Haze waived the opportunity.
Asked how her website is going, Haze said she's been on the road so much she doesn't have time for updates. "We ended up losing our web designer," she added. "We're looking for any web designers who are not super expensive and through the roof that would consider taking on my website."
Haze bemoans the fact that she can't find anyone in Florida who wants to work. "They want to sit on their asses and be lazy. That's the problem. They say $2,000-$3,000 for a website and the website they build is crap. For that kind of money I should have a kick ass website that practically does everything except go to the bathroom for you."
Swami asked how Haze met Craig Valentine. Haze said they've known each other for close to 13 years. "I couldn't stand him," she says. "I hated him when I met him. He was an idiot. he was 19, 20 years old and just thought he knew everything. He was an arrogant idiot. He tries to tell everybody that I tried to burn his club down which I didn't. He says I did but I didn't. I used fire launchers at the time but they weren't working so good. But I wasn't trying to burn the club down." Haze said the club didn't burn down but they ended up running into each other over a stretch of time.
"We'd hang out, go to lunch; go to a movie but never ended up thinking we'd want to be a couple. I guess he wanted to be a couple but I was busy doing my own thing. That was farthest from my mind. I wasn't planning on doing that. He went off and got married. I went off with some losers in my schedule of crap."
Haze said Valentine's wife ended up taking him for $170,000 and everything he had. "He ended up pretty much having a heart attack at 30. The last time I had seen him- before we hooked up- he was huge. He looked like a house. He looked like he was ready to die. He was dead ass drop-dead gorgeous when I remembered seeing him. She totally took every last bit of fight that he had in him."
Not that he has his fight back, Haze said if it hadn't been for Valentine and his marketing acumen with the glass company, she doesn't think she'd be as popular as she is right now on the dance circuit.
Swami asked about the story involving Valentine and The Green Lantern. "He went to a club and tried to talk to Craig. Craig basically almost threatened to beat him up for embarrassing him. This guy ended up taking a restraining order on Craig."
Laughing, Haze said in order to take out a restraining order, you'd have to have a reason for one. "Craig has never threatened anybody," she says. "Especially since all the e-mails we've gotten from Green Lantern, we've saved every one of them where he's told us a whole bunch of crap. Basically he follows Leanna Heart around. And I guess when she decided that she didn't want him around any more, he couldn't find anything else to do but to make up her yahoo fan club group. Even Leanna's mom is, like, who gives a crap. She could care less."
Haze says Lantern lives in his onw fantasy world and lives at home with his mother. "I guess his big highlight is going out to see all the porn stars and if they don't cater to him, he freaks out and starts writing a whole bunch of crap." Swami joked about Haze fantasizing about The Lantern. "I think Peter's smoking some serious stuff," said Haze. "And he needs to lay off the drugs. But every e-mail he's sent me, he's threatened me and said he was going to do all this crap to me. I saved every one of them. I have them. He an make up anything he wants but he can't go into half the clubs in Connecticut because people are just waiting to meet him. But not in a good way."
Haze was asked her opinions on the HIV criis and noted that Bill Margold was trying to set up [one more] organization, this one called KEEP- Keeping Erotic Entertainers Protected. "Which I think is going to be a little more in depth than PAW," she says. Haze said she's the east coast spokesperson for KEEP as well as PAW.
Haze: "We want to get together and start a union where, maybe, this kind of stuff would have never happened had we some kind of union which would prevent the people from going overseas and shoot the girls over there that they think they can get a lot cheaper. Which is what happened when a couple of the tested positive performers went overseas to shoot the girls over there. They didn't care. They weren't wearing condoms, obviously. They ended up contracting it over there and then bringing it back over here."
Asked which had a chance of happening first, a wrestlers' union or a porn stars' union, Haze said definitely a wrestlers' union. "It's hard to get a lot of the adult entertainers to do things all in one place," she said. "Or, let alone, just do anything. Not to put a lot of the entertainers down or anything, but there are a lot of adult entertainers in the industry that are on some serious drugs. Some of them are even people who work in the offices that do the testing for HIV. They're on drugs themselves. How can they go about doing peoples' lab tests to make sure everybody gets clean bills of health if they don't know whether they're coming or going because they're on drugs themselves? That's what I don't understand."
Asked for her take on Sharon Mitchell, Haze said there's no way to clean up all the mess that she's made.
[Haze goes on to talk about two cases of HIV, but her facts seem a bit skewed so we present them verbatim.]
Haze: "Basically a lot of this has to do with her [Mitchell]. She doesn't do things the way she's supposed to be doing them. She tells everyone she's doing it by the book but obviously that didn't happen. She gave someone a clean bill of health that, obviously, contracted HIV. That person would not have worked had they known that they were sick. If you give someone a clean bill of health and, of course, they're going to go out and work with everybody they can get their hands on. For an entire week, you don't know how many girls a guy can work with in a week. It could be a lot of girls, and then they go and work with a lot of people and they work with other people. The guy thought he had a clean bill of health and all of a sudden he finds out a week later, wait a minute, we gave you the wrong test- you're really HIV positive. Okay, you got 70 people who have worked with that guy in a week and they're screwed.
"A poor girl out of Texas tried to kill herself because she found out she was HIV positive because she performed with someone who had it. The girl was, like, only 17, 18 years old. Well I guess she had to be 18. She was young 18, 19, a young girl, just new to the industry, probably couldn't have been in the industry more than a couple of months, now she's HIV positive. There are lot of people taking up collections for her, trying to help her out and stuff like that. But there's nothing you can do to help them out to deal with the fact that they have HIV. I'm sorry. I don't know what I'd do if anyone said I ever got it. There's nothing anyone can say to you to make that any better. I think the biggest fear that everybody in this industry has is getting sick."
