Spain may have ended their 44-year major title drought by winning the European Championship on Sunday, but not all Spaniards are happy.

The organisers of one of the country’s top pornographic film festival are blaming poor attendance figures on the football.

The three-day International Erotic Film Festival of Barcelona (FICEB) opened on Thursday, the day Spain beat Russia 3-0 to reach last night’s final.

The jamboree normally attracts around 50,000 sex fans but organisers claim only 15,000 turned up this year, and say the football is to blame.

‘Football is one of the few things that can compete with sex,’ complained FICEB director Juli Simon.
