Los Angeles, California - George Damian Productions and Stiletto Magazine premier Strip, with an opening night performance on Friday, January 29 at the Hayworth Studio Theatre. The show will run through February 21, 2009 in the intimate venue.
Writer and director Damian takes the audience inside the fictional Sunset Lounge in Hollywood, for a look at the greed, jealousy, lust and laughs behind the pole in Strip.
Based on true stories Damian collected during his time as an adult nightclub DJ and manager, Strip centers on the new girl dancing under the stage name of America at the Sunset Lounge. Portrayed with a winsome naiveté by Tammy Felice (pictured), America has landed in Hollywood to follow her dream of becoming a professional singer. However, it's never a smooth road to stardom in the big city, and the Midwestern chanteuse experiences culture shock as she gets to know the house ladies at the club, as she peels her way to financial security while waiting for her big break.
Sometimes raw, always entertaining, Strip combines drama and comedy as the story of the Sunset Lounge unfolds. Bring your dollar bills, as these ladies strut their stuff and take to the stage to perform on the pole for your enjoyment. Each performance of Strip features a different professional house dancer from a Los Angeles adult club, who opens the show with her signature pole performance.
Performances of Strip take place at 8:00PM each Friday, Saturday and Sunday through February 21. Although there is no nudity in the play, it does contain mature themes and language, and is intended for audiences 18 year of age and older.
The Hayworth Theatre is located at 2509 Wilshire Blvd in Los Angeles. Entrance for The Hayworth Studio Theatre is located on South Carondelete Street. Public parking is adjacent to the main theatre on Wilshire Blvd.
