REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — from www.xbiz.com – Adult content site StudioHD.com is closing up shop — a victim of parent company Vuze’s board of directors slashing several of its venture capital-funded projects.

Evil Chris, StudioHD’s former affiliate manager, told XBIZ that the closure is somewhat frustrating because “the site was doing very well, meeting or exceeding industry standards and projections.”

“Just as it was beginning to take off and have legs, Vuze is making deep cuts,” Evil Chris said.

The site, which will shut down soon after a short lifespan of eight months, offers a plethora of HD videos and photos from MC-Nudes, Mac & Bumble, Xisty, Walter Bosque, David Nudes, LSG and Digital Desire, among others.

StudioHD offered an affiliate program, which also will be shut down, Evil Chris said. The site used CCBill to process accounts.

“Current members will be able to access, and pay for, their memberships, which will continue to credit affiliates who have referred them,” Evil Chris said. “Owners of the site will determine how long those memberships will go on.”

Vuze, originally formed by some of the core developers of the open source bit torrent client Azureus, funded StudioHD with a mission that it would contains both free content and content that requires a paid subscription in order to access it.

But, this week, the Redwood City, Calif., decided to close StudioHD, its only adult property.

“I knew they were a VC company and things could become volatile, but the idea to work on something like what StudioHD offered was very exciting,” Evil Chris said. “It really appealed to me.”
