Las Vegas, NV- Tattoos certainly seem to be all the rage, and at least in the adult world, tattoos are not nearly as frowned upon as they were five years ago. The proliferation of tattoos on adult stars is everywhere, and the same effect is only now starting to become more and more accepted in the mainstream world.
Earlier this year, Adam & Eve contract star Teagan Presley and director Joshua were approached on appearing in acclaimed mainstream photographer Julian Murray’s upcoming Tattoos and Tentacles book. Presley had just come off a stint as the first adult star ever to grace the cover of the mainstream tattoo magazine, Inked, and was eager to do another mainstream shoot. Joshua, on the other hand, has been behind the camera exclusively the past four years, but had spent over fifteen years as a mainstream print model previously.
“My first thought when Julian approached me, was obviously they only want Teagan for this gig.” Joshua explains.
“When Julian said that he wanted both of us, my response was that clearly no one wants to see me naked. Even Teagan is probably sick of seeing me naked. I also didn’t want my goods wrapped in octopus, so Julian agreed to have my shoot be a topless only shoot. I would have preferred pasties, but I had to agree or sleep on the couch. I am already suggesting we do an all-male sequel to the book, Tattoos and Testicles.”
The shoot was staged at Presley and Joshua’s lush tropical setting pool and cabana area at their home in Las Vegas, and both were covered in baby dead octopi.
“The smell from the baby octopus was really off putting, and I am OCD with stuff like this, and I couldn’t wait to jump in the shower.” Presley adds, “Julian (Murray) was great, and the finished pictures are something I will treasure long after my career ends.”
Tattoos and Tentacles is a photographic art series combining the stunning world of tattoo art, an impressive sea creature with tentacles and extraordinary individuals. The series originated in 2008 while in the Midwest and later fed by the West-Coast scene; it quickly developed into an expanding series, creating concepts, set displays and utilizing different location to complete an array of edgy portraits. With over one hundred pages of striking images, Tattoos and Tentacles is to be seen as anything but ordinary.
