Honoring the best in the erotic retail, the 2009 STOREROTICA Awards will be held on the evening of Monday, September 21st, during the ILS Fashion Show at this fall’s STOREROTICA “What’s New Marketplace” and International Lingerie Show at the Rio Hotel and Casino. Popular sexologist Megan Andelloux will host the evening’s festivities.
This year will mark the biggest stage ever held for the STOREROTICA Awards with 10 categories recognizing the outstanding achievement in all aspects of the erotic retail industry including Lingerie, Dancewear, Accessory, Novelty, Adult Film and Smoke Products. Additionally, there is an award for the industry’s top Distributor as well as “Hot Product of the Year,” which distinguishes the most innovate new adult item sold over the past 12 months.
In addition to the vendor award categories, there are eight stores nominated for the prestigious, national award for “Retail Store Chain of the Year.” They include: Adult Mart, Amazing Superstores, Babeland, Fairvilla, Hustler Hollywood, Lion’s Den, Peekay, Sara’s Secret/Condoms To Go.
The other retailer award category recognizes the foundation of the erotic retail industry, the independent storeowner. The following eight stores are nominated: BabyDollz Lingerie in Fallbrook, California; Chi Chi La Rue’s in West Hollywood, California; Red Spaghetti in Forestville, California; Smitten Kitten in Minneapolis, Minnesota; Taboo in Richmond, Virginia; The Stockroom in Los Angeles, California; and The Tool Shed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and Vavoom in Las Vegas, Nevada.
