Las Vegas- Last week Arrow Productions exhibited at the Bar & Niteclub Convention which was held at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
“The convention was huge,” reports Robert Interlandi, marketing director for Arrow Productions, www.xxxdeepthroat.com
“That’s where all the major booze companies, energy drinks and soda companies all go,” Interlandi explains. “And anything related to restaurants is there.”
“You can walk around and try all the Jose Cuervo and vodka you like,” Interlandi smiles. “We did extremely well. A lot of companies couldn’t believe what we did with the Deep Throat energy drink, www.deepthroatenergy.com
Although the show goes only two days, Interlandi’s laughing about how someone can get torn up real quick during that time.
“Everyone’s giving away booze the whole time,” he states. “And everyone was screaming our name- DEEP THROAT!!! It was crazy.”
“We got a lot of distributors that want to pick us up,” Interlandi continues. “We got a lot of people saying we’re finally the only energy drink that has a stand-alone name – because there’s all these weird names out there that don’t mean anything. Finally, people are saying here’s a unique name that everyone knows. It was cool for the exposure.”
Playboy’s launched an energy drink, as well, and Interlandi, said, yeah, they were also at the convention.
“But everyone that’s tried us says ours is the best tasting energy drink they’ve ever had,” Interlandi states proudly. Nonetheless, according to Interlandi, some distributors have told him they can’t carry the product because of the name.
Besides some modifications in the drink’s flavor when it was first launched last Summer, Interlandi says the distinctive 8.4 oz yellow can with Linda Lovelace on it now also comes with a tape measure imprinted on the side warning the consumer that Deep Throating the can may prove to be a choking hazard. The can stands five inches tall.
“I personally have taken two and a half inches,” chuckles Interlandi. “Typically, girls do about an inch. We’ve had a number of girls try and I’ve successfully beaten them all.”
Last month, Arrow re-introduced the product with its subtle taste of apple and grape, and a proprietary formula that also contains ginseng root, guarana extract and Vitamin C – ingredients that are believed to stimulate energy levels.
For now, the Deep Throat Energy drink is sold in the Las Vegas area and will roll out to Northern California and Los Angeles this spring.
The drink was also featured at the X-Biz’s Players Ball in Las Vegas during the AEE convention while the Deep Throat Energy marketing campaign was also nominated for an AVN award. [The 2008 AVN award show will play on Showtime March 14th.]
