Porn Valley- The Grand Vizier and I spend late Monday afternoon exchanging the latest porn gossip.
Being that it was the day after Easter, The Vizier tells me how in some countries- like Lithuania- the day is celebrated by squirting perfume out of water pistols. The Vizier tells me that in his country the day’s spent by opening septic tanks.
I’m telling The Vizier about this conversation I had with Lynn Lemay who read his report on Leisure Time Video closing down. www.adultfyi.com/read.php?ID=27198
Lemay told me how Leisure Time was her contract company way back in the beginning of her career.
“For them to go down you know porn is in trouble,” Lemay was telling me. “That story definitely wasn’t big enough.” [Or at least played up big enough.]
“They were the people that changed our industry,” Lemay continued. “They’re the reason that we’re doing dollar movies. But give them credit where credit is due. Mark Carriere made his money and earned his name.”
Lemay went on to tell me a story related to her by her sister Tonisha Mills who worked for Leisure Time.
“That was one of the most classic instances in porn,” Lemay continues. “The IRS walked in and told Carriere you owe us $2.1 M. Carriere says can I have my checkbook? My sister was sitting there and I heard about it five minutes later. She said they took the check and went on their merry way. Isn’t it a classic? I thought that was the most brilliant quote ever.”
According to Lemay, she took her porn name by mixing and matching existing porn names from one of Leisure Time’s ads in the back of Penthouse.
“That’s how I got my name in 1986,” Lemay laughs. “I only remember the funny stories. I don’t have room in my head for the others.” Lemay figures she probably did 80 scenes for Leisure Time.
The Vizer finds this story amusing and counters with a rumor that he’s heard concerning a KSEX-like entity being called Rude TV.
“It’s a new webcast TV station opening up,” says The Vizier. “It’s a sister company of www.rude.com the company that XXX Jay embarrassed publicly on air at KSEX and told to go pound sand.“ www.adultfyi.com/read.php?ID=26220
According to The Vizier, Rude TV, with an obvious last laugh, launches in April.
Which, of course, prompts speculation about the vitality of TancTV which hasn’t been heard from since the demise of KSEX and their announcement of a station lineup and an imminent launch. There was supposed to be a major announcement coming from TANC this week. But, so far, nothing.
The Vizier next tells me how the story about Brooke Haven restricting herself to girl-girl scenes tickled his fez.
“You heard about the drama in Phoenix?” The Vizier asks me. “That was the night Haven and Chef Jeff attended a bachelorette party for one of her friends.” www.adultfyi.com/read.php?ID=27126
According to the story The Vizier heard, Haven supposedly got wasted.
“And she didn’t want to get on the bus taking them back to their cars,” states The Vizier. “One of Brooke’s girlfriends, a stripper, didn’t want to get on the bus and go back to the house where everyone’s car was at the end of the night. Brooke was trying to get Chef to party with her some more. Jeff told her he was getting on the bus to get his car. Brooke finally relented and got on the bus, but it was a butting of the heads. It was 4:30 in the morning.”
“Brooke then elected to stay with her friend that night which prompted cancellation of the shoot the next day.”
I tell the Vizier, whatever version of the story you subscribe to, and there must be one [a version says Jeff was drunker than a Russian general], one thing’s certain. Bill Fox drove from California to come get her even though Haven had a plane ticket back. Supposedly she missed her flight.
“Must have been some party,” says The Vizier wondering if Turkish liquor was served.
