From what we now know, James Bartholet carries his own 8 by 10 glossies; he also sends out his own press releases: here’s one of them which got picked up by the Hollywood Examiner.
James Bartholet is truly a man of many characters and many faces. Bartholet who has had a great year, has appeared in several features; including “Headmaster 2” “Not The Partridge Family XXX”, “Not Three’s Company XXX”, “Gotcha”, “The Masseuse”, and of course “Not Bewitched XXX” which he is up for a AVN award for Best Non Sex Performance at the 2009 AVN Awards in Vegas at Mandalay Bay on January 10th.
Bartholet has portrayed a wide array of characters this year, ranging from Darren Stevens boss, to the harried music manager of the Partridge Family, a nervous furniture store owner, a no nonsense parole officer, a wacky doctor, and even a priest.
Bartholet who came from the mainstream industry, crossed over into the adult industry in 2005, and has made a nice niche for himself as a non sex acting performer in the adult industry, who likes taking on the various character roles.
“The industry is making more features, and I think the public loves to see these, especially the parodies” said Bartholet. “I’m very excited about my nomination, and I want to thank AVN and everyone involved in the preliminary nominations for nominating me again this year. I think the awards are going to be great this year” added Bartholet.
Bartholet’s next role up is Mr. Cunningham in Hustler’s “Happy Days” parody, which starts production next month in January; a role director Axel Braun was quoted as saying “Bartholet was simply born to play”.
“I love the compliment from Axel, and thank Axel and Drew for bringing me on board this film, it’s going to be fun making this. I used to watch Happy Days as a kid and here I am years later doing a parody of this” said Bartholet.
When asked why he made the transition from mainstream into adult, Bartholet said; “I still work occasionally in mainstream still, but I love making films in the adult industry, the quality of filming making in our industry has advanced so much, and the fans loves it, plus I love the people in this industry, we’re a kind of tight knit group, it feels like a family, a somewhat dysfunctional family, but a family all the same”.
When asked about working on “Not Bewitched XXX” Bartholet stated; “Like I said before, it feels like family, I love working with Jeff and Scott, they’re very clever and creative guys, and the entire cast and crew where fantastic to work with. I think we made a great film that people enjoy. I mean how many times do you get to watch a film that can make you laugh, and then turn you on in the same film?” “It’s great to work with friends and colleagues who are all professionals, besides it’s a plus to be surrounded by all those beautiful naked women, Hell you’d never have see that kind of stuff working on the set of The Golden Girls, which is probably a good thing” laughed Bartholet.
Bartholet is also the host of “Inside The Industry” an entertainment news magazine program about the adult film industry that is seen on television and online. Bartholet is also the owner of Galaxy Publicity.
