Minnesota- The porn star and the minister both had finely honed arguments and some undeniable points, but Ron Jeremy was clearly the superstar at Minnesota State University Thursday night.

The porn debate, which drew a larger-than-expected crowd of some 2,500 students, featured Jeremy and Craig Gross, who runs an online community (xxxchurch.com) for people who feel they’re addicted to porn.

“You’re part of what’s called the porn generation,” Gross said. Pornography, he said, is becoming more violent, is degrading to women and sets up men for potential problems in marriage and relationships.

“Pornography is fantasy. It’s not going to be what you’ll find in real life — in real relationship,” Gross said.

He said much of the traffic to porn sites is by those 11 to 17 years old, and he accused the porn industry of marketing to minors.

Jeremy, who’s made more than 1,900 adult movies and has gained a new following of young people on MTV and other reality shows, argued that the vast majority of pornography is not violent.
