Angelina Armani got signed to a contract by Digital Playground. Which is no big deal, but the way the drama unfolded this morning concerning it you’d have thought that Sarah Palin had said something remarkably intelligent.
Some of what happened is explained on www.genesisonline.com authored by Dan Davis. But if you’re new in the neighborhood and reading this, you’re probably going, huh? What the fuck happened?
I will explain since I was in the middle of this operetta. A lot of the references in the Genesis story have to do with the architect of a “lesser site,” one Mike South.
What began the waste of a perfectly good morning came when I got an I-mail around 6 from Davis. He’s telling me he had a story about Armani being signed to this contract- a heads up which he quite alertly grabbed from the Type 9 modeling site.
So basically all I did was put up the story linking to Genesis’ site which explained how they came by the scoop, etc.
A couple of hours later, Davis I-mails me again to say a shit storm has developed over the Armani story because there was to be an “official” version going out, not this one. Davis, on behalf of Digital which I guess contacted him, is asking me if I would take the story down because it was Type 9 who was premature with the news in the first place. Davis told Digital he couldn’t speak for me.
I’m telling Davis, who’s playing the emissary, don’t be the one to get in the middle of the Digital Playground-thing because I’m going to say no. Not my fault if someone screwed up. Also too many times I’ve gotten the quid pro quo spiel: if you do this, I’ll do that. The I’ll do that portion in any promise or deal has yet to materialize as far as I know. But what I tell Davis, who was only relaying info as it was, is that I’ll pull Genesis’ name out of the story. Which I did.
I was away from the computer no more than a half hour when Tim Case e-mails me: “Why’d you take Dan Davis’s piece on the new contract girl down?”
Sure enough, the story was down. Okay, once in awhile I’ll have an extra drink the night before and misplace my feet, but not stories. And now I’m going nuts wondering how this occurred.
I knew of one person besides myself who had access to my software. I contacted Davis to see if he had talked to this person, thus Davis’ reference to being accused of hacking.
Which isn’t exactly the case. I wanted to see if Davis had been in contact with person or persons who might have assisted in having the story removed. He’s swearing on a stack of bibles he had nothing to do with it.
In the meantime, Case, known in some circles as Mike South Jr., has now put a version of the Armani story up on South’s website as if he got some big scoop, which he hadn’t. Of course South, in conversations to Davis, is saying he knew about the Armani deal two weeks ago. South also knew about the Creation before The Big Bang. In any event, the name Kayden Kross, as the leak of the Armani story, surfaces.
Meanwhile, I’m on the phone with my webmaster trying to solve the mystery of the missing story. He explains that Type 9 got in contact with him and gave him a convincing enough explanation about an “official press release” coming later to have this version removed.
By the way, I did find out that Armani is also Monstar’s girlfriend.
