WWW- [Boston Herald]- Is he or isn’t he? Only Tom Brady [stats]’s hair-transplant surgeon knows for sure!
But Dr. Robert Leonard, who has transplanted thousands of hairs over 22 years, thinks the New England Patriots [team stats] QB/QT is all natural.
“It appears from the photo that the crown of Tom’s head seems to be thinning,” said the good hair doc. “It does not appear, however, that he has had hair transplants.”
Well, phew!
You may recall that the New York Post’s Pagesix.com reported Jan. 22 – a few days before Brady headed to Arizona for stupefying Super Bowl XLII – that the QB/QT called on a hair restoration specialist in Manhattan. Which, as you may remember, fueled the rumors that Tommy was plugging for plugs.
But Dr. Leonard said that, although Tom appears to be sporting a full head of hair now, his future may not be so furry.
“As you might know, Tom’s father is bald. Likewise, since 98 percent of hair loss is due to genetics,” said the good doc. “The apple doesn’t fall far from the proverbial baldness tree.
“As you can imagine, I have been watching his head for a long time. At this point in his hair loss, I do not think that he would benefit from hair transplantation. He certainly would benefit, though, from Propecia, Rogaine Foam and/or low-level laser light therapy to stop the progression of male pattern hair loss, and, potentially regrow hair in this thinning area.”
Got that, Tom? Time to hit Rite Aid!
And if the time comes when hair plugs are in order, one of Dr. Leonard’s most satisified patients, WEEI’s nocturnal sports yakker Mike Adams, is here to tell him it works!
“I personally haven’t seen this alleged bald spot because I can’t get beyond the dimpled chin and rugged good looks,” Planet Mikey’s formerly balding main man told the Track. “But I’ve heard about (Tom’s male pattern baldness) and I would totally suggest hair transplant surgery.”
Back in 2003, when Mike had a bad case of “monk head,” he took Dr. Leonard up on his offer to transplant some of Adams’ surviving locks onto the bald spot.
“Frankly, I don’t even think about it anymore,” Mike said. “I’m back in the game with my own hair and go to a regular barber to have it trimmed. And you know I would never do a personal endorsement for a product I don’t believe in . . .”
Of course not . . . .
Adams thinks Brady’s lady, Gisele Bundchen, she of the highlighted, hair-extensioned brown mane, may be behind’s No. 12’s alleged trip to the Apple’s AMD Lab USA on Seventh Avenue last month.
“Maybe she insisted on it,” Adams said. “You know how she likes perfection.”
