Tommy Gunn, one of the industry’s most respected male stars, celebrates another prolific year filled with major releases, his directorial debut, and the premiere of “Pirates 2: Stagnetti’s Revenge” the world’s highest-budget adult production, in which he plays the title character.
“To have a movie title named after your character this BIG is just jaw dropping” said Gunn. “I knew I had to step up my performance from the last installment and take Stagnetti to a new level with his evil ominous presence, which was very difficult.”
The role, for which he received a “Best Supporting Actor” AVN nomination, required extensive preparation and a grueling makeup regimen. “I had to transform into Stagnetti in the makeup chair for 3 hours a day before I even set foot onto the set. Not to mention take on a voice and whole complete character when diving into this role, the five full days of sword-fight training we had to complete in order to get the sequence Joone was looking for–and not kill each other in the process! … I couldn’t have been reserved at all, if I was to perform the way I wanted to. I feel like we all pulled it off and made the second part of history” he added.
The veteran actor is also very proud of New Sensations’ war epic “Hearts and Minds 2: Modern Warfare.” He is nominated for the “Best Actor” AVN award for his role in the film. “It definitely hit home because of the obvious. It’s a love story and it honors our troops who are away from their families in these difficult times, and the fact that it was with my real life girlfriend at the time, but no longer. Ashlynn Brooke really meant a lot to me. I’m proud to have been a major part of that awesome movie and to have portrayed a real life situation” said Gunn. “I actually cried the first time I saw the movie.”
Gunn also made his directorial debut this year with “Tommy Gunn’s Point Blank POV,” which he filmed with New Sensations contract star Ashlynn Brooke. The film earned an AVN nomination for “Best POV Sex Scene.” This nomination was very important to Gunn and Brooke and they are anxiously awaiting the results.
In all, Gunn is nominated for a total of six AVN Awards for the upcoming awards show, taking place on January 10th at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. His nominations include: “Best Actor,” “Best Supporting Actor” for the Blockbuster sequel to Pirates, “Best Group Sex Scene” for Digital Playground’s “Cheerleaders,” and two “Best POV scene” nods for “Jack’s Playground 9” with Digital Playground contract star Stoya, and the aforementioned “Point Blank.”
Last but not least, Gunn is up for the coveted “Male Performer of the Year.”

2009 is already shaping up to be a busy year for Gunn, he is slated to play “The Fonz” in a “Happy Days” parody for Hustler.
