LOS ANGELES — Actress Traci Lords will be the new “face” of Duprey Cosmetics for the brand’s 2005 national ad campaign, expected to break this spring.

The first spot in a series of ads featuring Lords began filming this month in Los Angeles. The effort is being handled in-house by the St. Petersburg, Fla.-based, company. Expenditures for the campaign was not revealed.

The two-minute spot was described as a “dreamy, futuristic trip” set to Lord’s new music release, “You Burn Inside Me.” “Traci is the perfect star for this futuristic concept because she’s so ahead of her time in everything she does … not to mention that she is devastatingly gorgeous!” director Mike Ruiz said in a statement. Recent Durprey print ads have featured American Idol winner Fantasia Barria and actress Mia Kirshner.
