SACRAMENTO, Calif. [www.kcra.com]- — Hardcore porn is making its way to a chemistry lecture hall at University of California, Davis.

Students can watch “Pirates II: Stagnetti’s Revenge” for free Thursday night.

“To me, it’s a joke,” one UC Davis student said.

“When I heard about it, I was kind of shocked, but not too shocked,” added UC Davis student Katie Gross.

The film is part of an educational effort by the Entertainment Council.

“It is supposed to be a light-hearted event,” said Golda Criddle of the Entertainment Council.

The goal here is not porn for students. Organizers said it is a chance to discuss difficult subjects such as sexuality and gender roles.

“We will have a speaker that will talk about porn fantasy issues before the screening,” Criddle said.

But many students said they don’t see it that way.

“Personally, I don’t think it is that great of an idea,” UC Davis student Elbert Mock said.

Most students KCRA 3 spoke to shyly admitted they were curious. Others said they’ve already seen it.

“It came out. I don’t know, we saw it like a month ago or so,” UC Davis student Sakiv Vahora said. “Personally, I wouldn’t really go because I look kind of trashy, like a guy going in here with a lot of other girls.”

The Entertainment Council did not advertise on flyers. Organizers said they didn’t need to for this kind of film. More than 500 people sent an RSVP through Facebook stating that they are attending, yet the lecture hall only seats 440.

The movie isn’t for everyone. It is just for students. Officials will be checking student IDs and driver’s licenses.
