from www.nydailynews.com - While the Pentagon was busy planning the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq, the CIA devised an X-rated version of "Shock and Awe": create and release a video of Saddam Hussein having sex with a teenage boy.

A former CIA official tells the Washington Post of the idea: "It would look like it was taken by a hidden camera. Very grainy, like it was a secret videotaping of a sex session." The intention of the video was to shame the former Iraqi dictator and make him lose credibility among his people.

Had the CIA's made-for-TV Saddam sex romp hit airwaves, it would not have been the first time the spy agency tried to smear an American enemy with homosexual accusations.

A video was made attempting to show Osama Bin Laden and his followers sitting around a campfire, getting drunk and talking about having sex with boys.

However, the Saddam video never became a reality because it would have been ineffective, a second CIA official said.

"Trying to mount such a campaign would show a total misunderstanding of the target," the official said. "We always mistake our own taboos as universal when, in fact, they are just our taboos."
