SALT LAKE CITY -- A Utah television personality and another man face federal charges of trafficking in child pornography.

Matthew John Duhamel, 32, known as Matt McCoy from his days on KUTV Channel 2, currently hosts a local, late-night talk show on KPNZ Channel 24. He and an Orem man, Charles Philip Granere, 26, were arrested Friday and taken to U.S. District Court.

They each face one count of transportation of child pornography, receipt of child pornography and possession of child pornography, according to court documents.

Charges unsealed Saturday allege that Duhamel and Granere facilitated the posting of pictures of children in sexually explicit poses on the Internet. Prosecutors said the pictures show girls wearing little more than underwear.

The charges state Duhamel and Granere charged clients to download the pictures. "It's not teen modeling. I mean it's clearly child pornography. When you put a 10- or 11-year-old in a thong or pasty ... that's not teen modeling," Special Agent Patrick Kiernan, of the FBI's Salt Lake Bureau, told KUTV.

The investigation went into several states before authorities said they had enough evidence to file formal charges.

Investigators traced e-mail and Web addresses to Duhamel's home address in Bountiful and to Granere's business address in American Fork.

If the men are convicted, they could face up to 20 years in federal prison on the first two counts and up to 10 years in prison on the third count.

According to Duhamel's resume, he worked as chief meteorologist at KIDK in Idaho Falls, Idaho, from July 2002 to March 2003. He joined KUTV from July 2004 through February 2005. In March 2005, he worked as a weekend radio host for KQMB. He joined KPNZ in September 2005.
