Early in February, Xbiz.com started a ruckus by putting out a story of there existing a hardcore version of The Italian Stallion, the early Sylvester Stallone flick more commonly known as Party at Kitty and Stud’s www.adultfyi.com/read.php?ID=4785
Here’s the critical core of the Xbiz story:
COPENHAGEN, Denmark — Adult/mainstream distributor Another World Entertainment has released the German-language “White Fire” version of infamous ‘70s adult film “The Italian Stallion,” starring mainstream star Sylvester Stallone. Redigitized and remastered to DVD from an original print, the title hits U.S. stores yesterday.
According to Another World, the DVD features seldom-seen sequences of Stallone performing hardcore penetration and cum-shots in a scene with co-star Henrietta Holm.
Following on the heels of recent remakes of Stallone’s classic mainstream films, Another World spokesperson Nick Barbano said, “After successful Rocky and Rambo sequels, Stallone ought to complete a hat-trick with a big-budget wham-bam tour-de-force hardcore sequel to ‘Italian Stallion.’”
Barbano is also the author of a short history of the film, which comes in a booklet that is packaged with the DVD…..Barbano, who is also a producer for the adult division of European production company Zentropa and is the author of “The World’s 25 Hottest Porn Stars,” said he was surprised when he viewed the contents of the DVD.
“To my knowledge, no one has ever made a thorough investigation into the background of this important film,” Barbano told XBIZ. “Certainly, most of the statements about the film’s history that pop up in reviews are mere speculation.”
“I hope the German print of ‘White Fire’ which Another World Entertainment has included as a bonus disc accompanying ‘Italian Stallion’ offers an important piece of the puzzle,” Barbano added.
“The funny thing is that I received the bonus test discs from AWE without knowing exactly what was on its. My surprise and delight when I placed the bonus test disc in my DVD-player and saw what it contained was considerable,” he said.
……
Seeing is certainly believing, and I got my hands on a copy of White Fire complete with scenes featuring German language voiceovers, a Val Kilmer lookalike, possibly a young Herschel Savage, and about four to five actual minutes from the original Italian Stallion. But it didn’t take a “thorough investigation” as Nick Barbano in the Xbiz story refers to, to realize that the claims of White Fire are highly challengeable.
Granted, there was a clever attempt with matching cutaways to make it appear as though a skinny Stallone were having some kind of hardcore romp in the hay, but other than a few fleeting seconds, nowhere in the rest of the film is Sly seen or heard from again except for one other splice near the end where he’s seen trudging through the snow. Similar scenes featuring the Savage doppelganger match up to those to complete the ruse.
Essentially, it would take the opinion of a moron to declare that this confetti of a con job was the authentic hardcore rendition of Italian Stallion. And even the unsophisticated eye could detect differences in quality between the bits and pieces of “Stallion” that exist in “White Fire” and the Stallone imposter hardcore shots. The hardcore’s better lit and filmed in a bright, sun drenched Swiss chalet or what appears to be one, whereas the actual Stallone scenes are of a grimy New York texture and featured in an apartment.
Granting the devil his due, there’s a scene of a girl sucking a guy off a horizontally situated stepladder, which beats anything I’ve seen for innovation. And another scene features sparklers planted in a girl’s ass. But any further “investigations” proved rather tedious to convince the wary or skeptical.
At the time the Xbiz story broke, I spoke to Ed Parry of Bryanston Distributors. Parry, who owns the Stallone film, probably knows as much about the Italian Stallion movie as any human being has a right to, without considering the information too embarrassing.
And, according to Parry, Bryanston, www.xxxdeepthroat.com also has the same “hardcore” version although it hasn’t released it.
“I think we will, actually,” says Parry.
But, to be honest, states Parry, the German version which was put out around the same time as the Italian Stallion isn’t the real deal with Stallone.
“If it was we would have released it a long time ago,” Parry avows. “I hate to give you an anticlimax, but ‘White Fire’ isn’t the hardcore Stallone film.”
“And I am familiar with the movie, obviously, because I own it as well,” Parry continues. “It’s two or three films that have been intercut with a version of the Italian Stallion. There’s some footage of sparklers coming out of a girl’s pussy, so it’s an interesting piece, but it’s not him.”
“White Fire’s been around but sort of hushed up,” Parry goes on to explain. “I put a stop on it a few years back. And I stopped the German version from coming out so it didn’t interfere with what we had going on here. Then they licensed the movie from me.”
Parry, who’s on top of the story, suggested that Bryanston could release the two versions side by side more as a curiosity piece, but that’s not an official statement by any means.
Not too long ago Italian Stallion enjoyed a limited theatrical run which just ended in Denver.
