WWW- T.J. Myers, the star of the much-criticized Fox reality special “Who’s Your Daddy,” is no stranger to bad storylines.

The show revolved around Myers, who was given up for adoption as a baby, trying to pick her birth father from a field of imposters.

Numerous critics, including the Daily News’ David Bianculli, panned the show for its lack of taste and humor – and viewers agreed, ranking it fourth in its time slot Monday.

But for those who saw the show, there’s a small chance they may have recognized Myers.

The 5-foot-6 blond is a veteran of B-movies, starring in the 1995 flick, “Seduction of Innocence,” which features strippers and lesbian sex in a well-worn plot that at times mirrors Myers’ own life story.

Myers stars as small-town Tammy who travels to Dallas with a gal pal and discovers her sister has become a stripper. While Tammy considers life as a pole dancer, Tammy’s friend is being seduced by the big sister and a steamy romance ensues.

Myers doesn’t take all her clothes off, but she gets close. Producer Alin Bijan said he wanted to maintain the innocence of Myers’ character in her big-screen debut. “People were complaining, why didn’t they get to see her naked,” Bijan said yesterday.

Myers, a graduate of Texas Tech, was reared in a small town near Dallas but left the Lone Star State for Hollywood. Among her roles in B-movies were bit parts in wide-release films like “The Hot Chick” and “Intolerable Cruelty.”

She had a recurring role on television in “Walker, Texas Ranger” and found time to hawk Wisconsin cheese and Brite Glo lettering.

But selling cheese and selling an exploitative emotional experience disguised as reality TV are two radically different things, critics charged.

“I thought it was repulsive,” said Adam Pertman, executive director of the Evan B. Donaldson Adoption Institute. “I was surprised at how bad it was. … I didn’t expect that level of mental torture.”

Others said it minimized the role Myers’ own adoptive parents played in her life.

New York attorney Fred Greenman, who in 1991 was reunited with the daughter he fathered 31 years before, thought the show’s euphoric reunion scene trivialized the difficult emotional work that goes into overcoming the lost years.

Greenman said his daughter was happy to see him, but three years later was wondering why he put her up for adoption. “That’s when they let you have it,” he said.

Lorraine Dusky, the New York representative for the American Adoption Congress, felt the show, while tacky, highlighted the anguish of adoptees longing to connect with their past. “Life doesn’t begin at adoption for adoptees,” Dusky said. “It begins when they’re born.”

Fox reps said the network has been flooded with calls from people who want to find their parents, but wouldn’t say whether there will be another “Who’s Your Daddy?”

“It’s no secret that there were six in the can, but we only planned to run one,” said spokesman Scott Grogin.
