Lahoma Sue Smith, an Oklahoma City resident, pleaded no contest to prostitution charges after being accused of trading sex for a box of Frito-Lay snack chips. Smith, 35, was fined $1,142 following her plea.

Incident Details

The incident occurred in February, with Smith admitting to Oklahoma City police that she agreed to perform oral sex on a man in exchange for a $30 box of chips. The man, who told Smith he was a Frito-Lay employee, stated he did not have money but offered chips instead.

Undercover officers, patrolling the area in an unmarked car and looking for morals violations, observed Smith "trying to catch a date" by flashing her headlights at SE 33 and Robinson. Officers followed Smith’s car and subsequently found her and the man partially clothed inside the vehicle. Smith’s blouse was open, and the man was observed pulling his pants up in the passenger seat.

The man, whose name has not been released, informed police he was sexually frustrated and experiencing marital issues. He also stated he knew he could pick up a prostitute in that location. He was not charged and was released by authorities.

Legal Proceedings and Background

Smith, who police said has a history of prostitution, entered her plea for the February arrest. She was fined $1,142. When questioned by police about previous prostitution arrests, Smith stated, "Yes. Two or three times."
