Los Angeles – Wearing nothing but skimpy bikinis, PETA’s tall, buxom, sexy wrestlers will square off Monday, noon, in a tub of tofu in an effort to draw attention to the versatility of a fairly recent addition to American grocery-store shelves: the soy bean.

The all-vegan fight card being held at Broadway at the Third Street Promenade, across from the Santa Monica Place Mall, will include Danish model Kira Eggers, whose phenomenal body has landed her on the pages of Penthouse and Playboy, and Kayla Rae Worden, a PETA staffer with legs that won’t quit.

Behind the battle for America’s hearts and stomachs will be a banner that reads, “Still Wrestling With Tofu?” Meanwhile, the wrestlers’ “manager,” Ravi Chand, a U.S. Marine and vegan combat veteran of the war in Iraq, will hand out free tofu snacks and tofu recipe cards that will help even the most inept cooks make tasty dishes with this wonder food. Come one, come all, to the most fabulous food fight:

The wrestling exhibition is PETA’s way of taking a lighthearted approach to a very serious problem. The billions of animals killed for food in the U.S. every year aren’t the only ones who suffer because of meat consumption.

Consumers who overindulge in meat burgers, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, and dairy foods also pay a high price, as consumption of animal products has been linked to heart disease, strokes, obesity, diabetes, cancer, and impotence (clogged arteries restrict the flow of blood to all the body’s vital organs, not just the heart).

“A vegetarian diet is good for animals, good for the planet, good for your taste buds, and great for your sex life!” says Penthouse Pet Kira. “Seeing so many fat, sick, meat-eating Americans dying prematurely convinced me to jump into the tofu tub.”

PETA’s western tofu-wrestling tour will also make stops in Phoenix and Salt Lake City.
