On a KSEX show that was repeated Wednesday night due to the AEE convention this week, Lorrainiac revealed the instigator to be someone known as "Zal". And, according to the information that Lorrainiac had, Zal was allegedly using another chatroom habitue, Cricket, aka Porn Store Princess, as an inside woman to gain him access to the KSEX awards so that he could accomplish his nefarious scheme. Except that Zal's plans were thwarted somewhat when KSEX elected this year to go from a public venue and conduct the show in its studios. Cricket, who got on the phone with Lorrainiac on the encore show, basically denied any knowledge of the elaborate plot.

Thursday afternoon I spoke to Lorrainiac.

She calls the whole episode crazy and that she was scared to death for awhile.

"He's the one who wrote to everybody about how our station is ruining Free Speech an that we're horrible and all this other shit," Rainey explains. "He's a pain in the ass."

Zal was a long time fan of hers but, apparently, Rainey fell out of Zal's favor over an incident in the KSEX studios involving Kami Andrews.

"Kylie Ireland had Kami on as a guest," Rainey goes on to say. "Occasionally Kylie hangs out and stays afterwards. Kami was getting loaded but that's what we do. That's my show. So Kami gets really loaded and I have this stupid little toy. It was an octopus. I go over to her and I go look it's an octopussy because she was doing a full spread shot."

But Andrews was also getting under Rainey's collar. She had called Rainey a cunt on at least four occasions on the show.

"And I hate that word and she knows that I hate that word," says Rainey. "I explained it to her but he was so loaded, she couldn't quite get it. So I lifted up her legs and shoved the octopus up her ass. It was hysterical. It was funny." Zal apparently took offense to what happened and got upset over Rainey daring to do this to his friend, Andrews, and how dare Rainey try to embarrass Andrews in front of all her fans.

"I was fine with it- she was fine with it," said Rainey. "And Kylie was laughing. It was funny. And he got pissed and fit to be tied. He was going to kill me. He was going to ruin my career. He got all these other chat people involved in it."Asked how Porn Store Princess became an alleged accomplice, Rainey said she got several e-mails from chatters ratting Porn Store Princess out.

"[They said] Zal is preparing this whole takedown of you and he's going to ruin your career at the Listeners Choice Awards," Rainey goes on to say. "They said Porn Store Princess is the one helping him out. She was the one supposed to get him into the awards because I quit talking to him a long time ago. Everybody in the industry knows he's a piece of shit because all he does is write all these letters to the press who don't care who he is. Not that his opinion really matters. He's just a psycho fan."

Rainey explained that she wanted Porn Store Princess in the studio to face the charges. "But she called instead," says Rainey. "She now lives out here. I called her on the air and I was pissed. But she said I swear I had nothing to do with it. I went over it four times with her. I have letters from four different people in my chatroom. They're not going to lie to me. My fans are not going to bullshit me."

What Rainey believes happened is that Zal had a plan that blew up in his face once it went public.

"Then everyone went, I had nothing to do with it- I don't know what you're talking about," said Rainey. "That's exactly what happened so I just blew it off. I haven't talked to her since. I haven't talked to him." Rainey suspects as well that Zal was hoping for a public venue. But it didn't happen.

"What the fuck are you going to do?" she asks. I found it incredible that someone would have all this free time on their hands to invest their emotional core in something as stupid as this.

"Exactly, but that's what psycho fans do," Rainey replied. "He owns my Yahoo group and he deleted that. When you let fans get a little too close and they start thinking their friends, in Zal's case, he just started thinking he was every thing. And he tried to direct my show and tell me what I should be doing. I blew him off: dude, who the fuck are you. Just because you sit around all day and watch porn doesn't make you in the business."

Rainey says Zal was a huge fan of hers for years.

"He lives in San Diego, so we'd take trips to San Diego and we'd meet him at a bar. He seemed like a pretty decent guy. Every thing was cool. Every thing was fine.

"I've been doing radio for 15 years, 11 years in mainstream and four years in porn," Rainey continues. "I've met some nutty people but these KSEX fans are by far the nuttiest."

Rainey started out being a broadcast journalist in college. She did an internship in radio, TV and film.

"I wanted to be a broadcast journalist and work at NBC," she tells me. "I started there." But Rainey fell in love with radio and never went back to TV. How she wound up at KSEX was a total accident, according to her

"I was a program director down at a station in Hollywood and one of my announcers said he had this audition but they wanted him to bring a girl with him.

"I was, okay, I'll go help you out- I met Wank." Rainey's friend was hired but she also had to be part of the deal.

"Six months later, he was fired and I quit mainstream," Rainey laughs. "I've been here ever since. It's been an interesting career, I must say that."
