from www.washingtonexaminer.com – A 20-year-old Oxon Hill woman charged this week in the 2010 robbery and murder of a D.C. man had advertised her sexual services online before meeting the victim, according to charging documents.

District police arrested Latonya Hall on a charge of felony murder in the death of 33-year-old Michaeldeon R. Talley, but the suspect accused of pulling the trigger that killed Talley remains at-large, police said.

The use of the Internet to prey on unsuspecting victims has become common, most notably in the case of a popular D.C. middle school principal who was shot to death in his Silver Spring home hours after “meeting” his killer in an online chat room.

In September, Craigslist announced that it shut down its adult services section in response to complaints to criticism that it was facilitating child exploitation and prostitution.

In this case, the suspect used an Internet classified advertising Web site called Backpage.com to find their target, police said.

According to charging documents made public Tuesday:

Hall posted an apparent ad for prostitution, using the alias Kiana. On Feb. 15, 2010, Hall went to an apartment on the 900 block of 48th Street NE to meet a man she knew as Mike.

At the apartment, Hall and another woman went to the bedroom with Talley. About 10 minutes later, Hall and the other woman came out of the bedroom and said they had to run to the store. They left the apartment.

That’s when Hall called a man named Manny and described to him the layout of the apartment, according to charging documents.

Minutes later a man kicked open the front door, yelling “Where is it?” and “Give me the stuff.”

Talley and the man got into a scuffle, and Talley was shot dead, police said.

During the investigation, detectives obtained photographs from the last Web page visited on the bedroom computer and found Kiana’s advertisement. On her chest was a tattoo that said, “Only God can judge me.”

Police arrested Hall after she was identified through a photo array.
