Tampa- From www2.tbo.com – The Long Island Lolita is all grown up now and she’s traded her prison garb for stripper’s lingerie.

Amy Fisher, who has gone from teenage other-woman-shooter to prison wench to writer, will dance at an Independence Day weekend show at the Déjà Vu strip club.

Once the darling of screaming New York tabloid headlines telling ribald tales of how she shot the wife of her much-older paramour when she was 17, Fisher now is a budding porn star and has embarked on a national tour of strip clubs trying to arouse interest in her new career.

“It’s a very classy show,” said Fisher from her Long Island home, where her two children splashed and screeched in the background. “It’s not really a stripper show. I’m more of an entertainer, an exotic dancer.”

She said she started dancing in January and because of her name recognition, she doesn’t have to give the triple-X version.

“I have a lot of elaborate costumes and people come to see me,” she said. Twenty-five percent of her audience, she said, typically is women.

Ryan Thomas, promotions manager at Déjà Vu chuckled when asked about the show.

“We went through the Lee Entertainment Network, her agent company,” Thomas said, “and they told us they had her available and so we picked her up.”

Two shows are scheduled for July 3 and two for July 4 at the club on Adamo Drive between Tampa and Brandon. The cover charge is $20, which is the normal cover charge, no matter who is performing, Thomas said.

“It will be interesting to see what kind of show it will be,” he said.

Headliners at the club have included porn stars who dance and mingle with the customers, he said. Some offer racier shows than others. He’s not sure about Fisher, but hopes the name alone will bring people in.

Before going on the road and being booked through the agency, he said, “you have to take classes to learn how to do this.”

He said he expects capacity crowds of between 200 and 250 for each show.

So far, a wide range of customers, mostly men between 24 and 34 years old, has asked about Fisher’s appearances, he said.

“We’re getting all the guys from New York who say, ‘I gotta go see her’ to younger guys who say, ‘Who is she?’ and the older guys tell them and then the younger guys say “We gotta see her too,” Thomas said.

“It won’t matter,” he said. “People will come.”

Just Google the name and you’ll find page after page of links to her new career and the life she’s led since shooting Mary Jo Buttafuoco in the face in the doorway of the victim’s home in Massapequa, N.Y., some 17 years ago. Fisher was romantically involved with Buttafuoco’s husband, Joey, at the time.

The case made the teenager a villain to some, a victim to others. She eventually served seven years in prison.

After that, her career took some unexpected turns.

After her release from prison, she wrote an award-winning column for the Long Island Press and even penned a book about her life.

She eventually married Lou Bellera, who nudged her toward the new career.

In January, she released a pay-per-view film entitled “Amy Fisher: Totally Nude & Exposed,” and now, along with Bellera, runs her own porn Web site.

In January, she signed a deal to tour the nation as a stripper. The contract calls for her to drop her petticoat once a month at dance clubs around the U.S.

“She started in January and has been all across the country from Baltimore to Denver,” Bellera said. “It’s fantastic. She’s fabulous. She’s not a regular stripper per se. She’s more of an exotic performer; more of a celebrity who gracefully takes the stage and interacts with the crowd.

“She’s in shape, she looks terrific and she moves gracefully,” he said. “People come to see her because of her name recognition. She has a fan base; people come to behold her in all her beauty.”
