NY- Cranky catwalker Naomi Campbell raged at Madison Square Garden staff and spat in a security guard's face only months before her latest arrest, a police source said.
The famously short-fused hottie hurled abuse at a security guard during a U2 concert last October after being told to stop sitting on a barrier, the source told the Daily News.
"Campbell told the security officer that she was not going to get down and that he was a f------ a------," the source revealed.
"She told him to go f--- himself and to get the f--- away from her. She then spat in the officer's face."
The source said the abuse was witnessed by two other security guards and a senior Garden official was called in to intervene.
"[The official] explained to her that it is against Garden policy and the policy of the band's security to sit on the barrier railing," said the source.
"He explained to her that the Garden's policy does not tolerate anyone spitting on someone's face and that is cause for ejection.
"Ms. Campbell told the official to get the f--- out of her face and to leave her alone.
"The official warned her that any further problems will result in her being ejected from the arena, and she replied that she would like to see that."
Campbell, who was not ejected, attended the concert at the invitation of U2's lead singer Bono, one of her friends told cops. The source said the guard filed a harassment complaint with cops. But the case was closed without investigation because Campbell's actions were considered more rude than harassing, the source said.
Madison Square Garden spokesman Barry Watkins and Campbell spokesman Mark Saylor refused to comment.
But Campbell's lawyer, David Breitbart, said, "Since the latest arrest, I have been trying to investigate the complaints that have been made in the past.
"I have never heard of this one."
Campbell was arrested Thursday after allegedly hurling a crystal-encrusted BlackBerry at her maid's head after accusing the housekeeper of swiping a pair of $200 designer jeans from her Park Ave. penthouse.
The housekeeper, Ana Scolavino, 42, needed four stitches to mend a gash on the back of her head, police said.
Scolavino's lawyer has said that Naomi tried to cover up the bloody, hissy fit by telling the maid not to go to the hospital.
Campbell - who has a history of allegedly beating, head-butting, biting and abusing her hired help - has been charged with assault. She has denied attacking the maid and was due to arrive in South Africa yesterday to join former President Nelson Mandela in promoting a children's charity.
