David Forest on KSEX-final

Porn Valley- Gay porn agent David Forest was on KSEX’s The Young & The Curious Show Friday night. Forest talked to host Jason Sechrest, www.jasoncurious.com about a number of subjects that included his pimping and pandering trial, [from adultfyi, 2/8/2006: Gay XXX talent agent David Forest was found not guilty today on charges of pimping and pandering. Forest was on trial for charges stemming from a sting operation in 2004 in which Rod Barry and Chip Noll were arrested by undercover police for prostitution and accepting money for sex.

Forest arranges introductions in which porn stars meet their fans but Forest receives nothing for this service, according to him. The jury apparently saw it the same way, although Barry and Noll served as witnesses against Forest in the two-week trial.being pee’d on and performers who are gay for pay.”]

Forest also talked about being pee’d on and performers who are gay for pay.

Sechrest’s co-host for the evening was Sam Phillips and there’s rumors that she may be installed as a permanent one.

“You’re the only woman that I would really want to be on this show,” Forest told Phillips.

Forest came on introducing a couple of his performers- Rocky and Brad Rock.

“It’s the wood in the Forest,” quipped Sechrest jumping on to a theme wondering if every guy signed on with Forest is named Rock something.

“Brad Rock was put together by Blue Blake, my friend,” said Forest. “Rocky is my creation.” Forest told how someone challenged him on the one name only concept and gave Rocky a last name in a magazine spread.

“Whatever it was, it was Mexican,” said Forest claiming that he’s no longer dealing with that particular magazine.

“Even with the movie he did for Joe Cage- County Line- for Odyssey- they wanted to have a last name,” said Forest, noting that he once met a male hustler who was using the name Rocky and asked him to stop using it. Sechrest said Forest lives a fascinating life but hasn’t had him on the show since the trial.

“The trial itself was eight excruciating days,” said Forest. “But was more difficult to stand were the three days of the deliberation of the jury. But it’s been the past 13 years.” Forest went to explain that he served time back in 1993 and then began his idea of meeting the stars of the gay industry.

“Within two years of starting it, within 2004 I got arrested,” he said. “Meet the Stars is a little division of my management company where I do the most minimal amount of work because the result of the connecting of the fans to the stars usually ends up being something I don’t want to know anything about. It’s private.”

“It’s an introduction service,” said Sechrest.

“And the people who continue to say he’s a pimp, he’s always been a pimp- that is a pimping service, that’s prostitution- he know it’s prostitution,” Forest continued.

“Well we took it to the jury – it was 12 people- our peers- we interviewed them, the DA interviews them; the judge interviews them. Some of them say I can’t be on this panel, I’m the sole bearer of fruit to my family or I’m a single mother. Some of those people were not excused. Or maybe some were excused for other reasons.”

By and large, Forest said he was very pleased with the makeup of the jury and was subsequently found not guilty on two counts of pimping and two counts of pandering. Forest described the general mood of the trial as being uptight until the verdict was rendered.

“But I made sure to be at least human if I saw one of the jurors in the bathroom or on a break,” said Forest. “Instead of being mums the word.” Forest said he would comment on the weather or something like that.

“We talked to the jury and they told us they never believed I was guilty of those four crimes from the very beginning,” said Forest. A thorny issue in the case was the fact that Forest did time for similar charges.

“The amazing coincidence about that is that you went to prison weeks after Heidi Fleiss went to prison,” Sechrest pointed out.

“Heidi Fleiss was arrested in June of ’93 and I was arrested in October of ’93,” Forest pointed out. “Her end result was quite a bit different. “I made a deal to plead no contest to one count of pandering. No contest is during the punishment stages. It’s considered guilty.”

Sechrest said Forest was generally known in the media as the gay Heidi Fleiss. Because there was basically no Internet, Forest said Fleiss got all the “glory.”

“Then I had to make that deal,” said Forest. “I got sentenced to three years in prison but they let me be out on bail while I fought the punishment as being hard and cruel. According to Forest, Paul Baressi decided to tip off the media.

“This one channel went nuts,” said Forest. “They came right to the building I lived in on Franklin and they did the whole thing. Then some boy stepped forward who I guess had ridden in a limousine one time when I took him to a few places- we went to Alan Carr’s, God rest his soul- and they did a special.”

Forest made it sound like he became a subject of salacious promotion because it was TV sweep’s week. During the time he was out on bail, Forest said his detractors and other agents would be calling niteclubs and studios to solicit support on his behalf.

“This man’s going down- this was ugly.” Forest had down two months short of two years but was arrested again in May, 2004.

Forest said some people will say about the trial, oh, that was held in Van Nuys, as if there was some significance.

“You should have seen the jury members- old ladies,” laughed Forest.

Sechrest recalled that Forest ran his agency with no winks or veiled promises.

“I tried to hire someone through you for my best friend’s birthday,” Sechrest recalled. “I needed to know what they were willing to do and what they weren’t willing to do. I was like on best friends terms with you at the time. Way closer than what we are right now. You didn’t tell me anything, and I saw you constantly. I was, like, if he isn’t going to tell one of his best friends who he really trusts with everything else in his life- what this guy is going to do sexually- he isn’t telling anybody.”

During some small talk with Sam Phillips, Forest said he could have gone either way, sexually, in his life but enjoys watching straight porn in partying situations.

“A martini here and there and a cigar,” Forest remarked when asked to define partying. Asked who his favorite straight male porn star was, Forest said “in person,” Talon.

“In my home,” he said. “And a friend of his with long hair Jean von Long Dong, ah, Valjean. The boy is beautiful. Other than him I would say Julian is pretty amazing. Do you know there’s no one men ask for more in to Meet the Stars- Julian is more famous and in demand than any single other star, ever. They all want to meet Julian.”

“Remember you helped me get to Dale Dabone,” Forest told Sechrest. “I figured with Julian the same thing. If someone will pay $2,000 for an hour- if he’s listening right now he’s probably looking at his wife- he’s married to that beautiful girl. What’s her name? Lanny Barby? And probably she’s saying, honey, if you make $2000…but no one’s been willing to do that.” Forest told a story about Dale Dabone.

“He figured he was going to do it and get $2,000- then when he met the man, suddenly he couldn’t do all this stuff, he did a little stuff and got $500 and left. You got to do your best. Dale’s an overachiever- you know that.” Asked if Dabone at least kissed the John, Forest didn’t think so.

“Was there any oral?” asked Sechrest.

“I’m not going to go into it,” Forest said flatly.

“You know Dale went to Miami with Joey Ray,” Forest continued. “Dale went to Miami, got a backer and made some straight movies. He’s driving around in a Maserati and he’s happy.” Phillips reminded Forest he was going to say something about Joey Ray.

“I have nothing to say,” said Forest. “But Alec Metro, there’s…” Forest was pressed for more details about Dabone and Joey Ray.

“You know damn well there are people listening and they’re keeping track of this,” said Forest, going back to Metro.

“Alec Metro- the loveliest young man,” Forest continued. “He’s more of the flippy type. He does the opposite of what he does in his movies.” Phillips said she loves how everybody comes on Sechrest’s show and tells tales.

“It’s really not your fault,” she laughed. Sechrest said he’ll get calls from people telling him, ‘How dare you say…’ Forest was of the opinion he didn’t think the stuff was all that private.

“And the listeners like to hear about it,” he added. “They love to hear about Julian. If a person wants to pay $2,000 to Julian I won’t take their money for the connection then find out from me the next day, by the way, it’s $2,000.”

“You’ll tell them beforehand,” said Sechrest cutting through what Forest was trying to say. Forest figures that if Julian doesn’t get $2,000, he would never do it. Forest and Phillips got onto a conversation about eating cum and Forest said you can’t get your gay card unless you eat it. Phillips didn’t sound enthusiastic.

“I spit it out,” she proclaimed. Asked who had the nastiest cum she ever tasted, Phillips said that was kind of private.

“I choose not to remember those kind of facts,” she replied.

Later in the show Forest talked about how Larry Flynt was now shooting gay movies.

“He has never done gay productions but he bought a studio called VCA which includes HIS,” Forest continued, noting that Chi Chi LaRue had shot movies for HIS.

“This weekend he [Flynt] has Jim Steel who we know from Vivid,” said Forest. “He was the one who brought Vivid into the gay world years ago. Jim was also with Odyssey who went out of business.” Sechrest thinks Steel has shot some of the best gay porn to come out in the last few years.

“A lot of it was for Falcon- he is an amazing director,” said Sechrest, noting that Steel had some personal issues with the company and stopped shooting for them.

“I do know that some of his movies for them were the best I had seen in years. He’s an amazing director and Larry Flynt is very lucky to have Jim Steel as the one who helms his first gay movies.” Forest said the first production is called Devil Inside and the way it works Larry has to approve the budget himself.

“Then they give you a check for the projection costs- they don’t give you the money for everything until everything is in order,” said Forest. “And Sharon Kane is the production manager.” According to Forest, the interesting thing about the production is the fact that the cast members had to get tested at AIM.

“Flynt’s companies demand condoms,” Forest stated. Sechrest said Flynt looks like he’ll be sticking with the same regime as they do with straight. In situations like this, Sechrest asked Forest if gay performers have difficulties going in for tests.

“I had a gay company that just started to do testing,” said Forest. “But they were so lame- they said we don’t care what the result is. We just want a test on file.” Sechrest said the point of that was the fact that your scene partner will know and be able to make the choice of whether or not they still want to perform with you.

“They don’t disclose the results,” said Forest.

“The did disclose them at Sable with the fellow performers,” Sechrest replied. “That’s the only reason why they did that.”

Forest said he has a performer who was petrified at the idea of getting a test for the Flynt movie and made all kinds of excuses why he couldn’t. And Forest has other people who will plain flat out tell you they won’t pass it.

“There’s very few straight companies doing gay,” said Forest. “There’s Lexington Steele.” According to Forest they didn’t require testing for one movie he knew about and Sechrest said it wasn’t required for movies he himself has directed.

“It was a condom movie and they just went with what the gay industry normally does,” said Sechrest, noting that if you pay the money at AIM for the full panel of tests, they won’t disclose what your results are.

“If you get it for free- all performers can be tested for free- then the information is made public,” said Sechrest. “At least that was the deal when I was there a year ago.” Forest is of the opinion that if you have HIV you shouldn’t be in the sex business.

“But as Chi Chi LaRue said, if we had to test everybody, we’d lose half the goddamn cast,” said Forest.
