Roseville, California From www.cbs13.com- A violent armed robbery happened inside an adults only store. And the suspects got away with it until, cops say, their one little mistake led to a big arrest.
The x-rated “Bad girls” movie sits on the shelf as the real life bad guys slipped inside Goldie’s Adult bookstore. Coming in for quick cash, they allegedly cornered a clerk and customer.
“The guys came, they had a gun and they laid the customer on the ground,” said Mysha Bernal.
“And could you imagine the fear of not only the clerk, but the patrons when a gun gets shoved into your face,” said Konrad Von Schoeck, Sacramento Police Dept. spokesman.
The porn store perps pried away wallets, keys, and a backpack then flew out the front door. Cops rolled up a few minutes later.
“While on scene, they learned the suspects fled in a vehicle, but they didn’t get far,” said Von Schoek.
The suspects got just one mile away. That’s where they allegedly ran a stop sign right in front of a cop, and they were pulled over. It turns out the driver and passenger were both on probation. So cops searched inside the car and found some stolen stuff from the porn shop.
“[Police] knew the robbery occurred, but had no idea this vehicle was connected to the robbery,” said Von Schoek.
Cops took David Loria and Kenyetta Lofton to the scene of the crime for a porn store parking lot perp show — a line-up where witnesses fingered the accused criminals.
Cops say it’s a case of a couple of crooks caught with their proverbial pants down for running a stop sign.
If they stopped at the stop sign they could’ve possible gotten away.
“I’ve been here for over two years and this is the first problem we’ve ever had like this,” said Mysha.
The only cuffs people at the porn store usually see are these furry cuffs. But this couple got a taste of the real thing – firsthand.
