From www.croatiantimes.com- A former Croat porn actress says she has not give up on her ambitions of becoming mayor of the southern town of Kastela.

Lidija Sunjerga, however, won only 3.3 percent or 453 of the votes in the local election.

“I’ll try again in four years. I can provide a better life to people here. They were just not ready to accept me, probably because of my past. I have not lost my faith”, Sunjerga said.

In response to remarks by local people that she had sold her body as a prostitute, she said: “I was selling mine, not yours”.

Centre-right Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) candidate Ivan Udovicic and businessman Josko Berket have made it to the second round of voting for mayor of Kastela.
