NEW ORLEANS – From wwwltv.com- Two New Orleans Saints players were arrested on obscenity and disturbing the peace charges after they allegedly were seen urinating in the parking lot of an apartment complex.
According to John Fortunato, a spokesman for the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, wide receiver Biren Ealy [right] and tight end Kolomona Kapanui [left] were urinating in the parking lot of the Palmetto Creek apartments, located in the 5000 block of Citrus Blvd., around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
Two women drove up to the two players and told them to stop, Fortunato said. Ealy, 24, then turned around, exposing himself in the process, and began making lewd comments, Fortunato said.
After that Kapanui, 25, turned around and exposed himself as well; Fortunato said he was “fondling himself” and was making lewd comments.
The two women began yelling for help and called 911, Fortunato said.
Ealy was released from the Tennessee Titans and signed with the Saints in January. He spent most of his two years on the practice squad, only appearing in four games in his career. He has one reception for six yards in that two-year span.
Kapanui, who went undrafted in the 2008 NFL draft, was waived by the Cleveland Browns last year. He was signed to the Saints practice squad in November 2008 but hasn’t appeared in an NFL game.
The two players told arresting officers they were members of the New Orleans Saints football team, Fortunato said, but they were arrested anyway and placed in jail with a $4250.00 bond. They were charged with obscenity, disturbing the peace (due to being drunk in public), and lewd conduct (due to urinating in public).
