NY- Luxury wheels and lurid sex led to the scandalous arrest yesterday of a Long Island housewife accused of carrying on a twisted tryst with a 16-year-old neighbor, police said.
The victim’s mom apparently got suspicious and called cops when her son came home with a gift from his secret lover – a 2002 Mercedes-Benz S430, cops said.
“I don’t know whether she took advantage of him, but she has kids of her own who are his age,” said a 75-year-old neighbor of suspect Lisa Frodella.
Frodella, 39, of Carle Place, whose lawyer said she is suffering from cancer, surrendered yesterday and was arraigned on two counts each of third-degree rape and criminal sex acts. The married mom was being held last night in lieu of $40,000 cash bail.
Nassau Police Lt. Kevin Smith said the forbidden affair began in January, when Frodella started sweet-talking and text-messaging the youngster, who goes to high school with her two daughters, ages 14 and 15.
“On more than one occasion, the defendant called the boy’s school, posing as his mother, and said he was sick and wouldn’t be able to go to school. Then they would go off,” Smith said.
Detectives contend Frodella and the teen had sex in her car, or at area motels – including a St. Patrick’s Day romp at a Red Roof Inn in Westbury, L.I.
But the gift of the luxury car is what brought the taboo romance to light, cops said.
On April 24, after an alleged rendezvous with Frodella at a Holiday Inn in Carle Place, the youth showed up at home driving the black Mercedes that has a Kelly Blue Book value of more than $40,000, police said.
“The kid volunteered that it was a gift from the defendant and that he was going to work for her over the summer at an import-export business that she was starting,” Smith said.
But the boy’s mother didn’t buy the story and at first suspected her son stole the car. She called the police, who tracked down Frodella, and soon the hanky-panky was exposed, Smith said.
Yesterday, the 5-foot-3, 130-pound dirty-blond suspect appeared in Nassau County District Court in Hempstead, claiming her innocence as her lawyer portrayed her as a loving wife and mother.
“She’s been married for 17 years. She has a very supportive husband,” said her attorney, Michael DerGarabedian.
DerGarabedian branded the victim a liar.
“We believe 90% of what comes out of this young man’s mouth is not truthful,” DerGarabedian said.
